ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Warriors 4/18/2016 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 2)

You know and I know the rockets don't run no damn Horns.

 

There is the crux of the problem.

Every time we have gotten a three point specialist (Canaan, Troy Daniels, etc) they are let go because they don't play defense.

But what they fail to realize is that none of these guys play defense. From top to bottom... None of them.

 

No doubt about it, their defense sucks. And it's the biggest reason they've declined so much since last season. But I think their offense doesn't get called out enough(well, til now anyway given what these commentators are saying on ABC and TNT).

Yes, the Rockets score a lot of points. But they're not a very good shooting team. They're horrible at taking care of the ball. They have exactly one playmaker in Harden. No real postup threats with D-Mo still recovering from back surgery. And they suck at free throws too. The only reason they do score as many points as they do is because they play a fast pace, not because they're efficient at that end of the floor.

 

Offseason wishlist

- Get an actual NBA coach (JVG, Thibs, etc.)

- Sign either of the 2: Whiteside, Barnes, Conley, Horford

- finding a miraculous way of trading Brewer

- Getting some damn shooters, don't care if they're from Chine or D-League.

- Getting Harden to be motivated to play defense and less careless with the ball from the start of the season.

 

If Morey were GM of the Texans, he would spend all his money on QBs with big arms (see Jay Cutler, the James Harden of QBs), and acquire the slowest WRs in the league yet have them run deep every play.

 

2 games left for SWEEP!!!!

 

Confirmed the people who wanted us to make the playoffs seem a bit slow right now. Regardless I admire them for having faith I lost mine 3 weeks in the season.

 

Don't forget Marcus Thornton. He was streaky, but he was still way better at shooting than just about anyone else on this roster aside from maybe Harden. And the Rockets let him go to save a few bucks.

We like Thibs, Thibs likes us, but Thibs also likes youth and control.

JVG likes Thibs, but isn't sloppy seconds and also digs control.

Then, you have James, who will have his say, but what happens when pickings are slim?

Scott Brooks? He's not bringing you KD. He'll bring you mediocrity and difficulty managing egos.

So...what price do you pay?

what did they say? I'm usually in a sports media blackout after a loss.

 

They ran Horns twice in a row in the middle of the 4th. They got the ball to Ariza (small ball lineup, yay) set a horrible screen for Harden, Iggy got on Harden, James stood in one spot with his hand up like he was open (he clearly wasn't), Ariza threw it to him anyways, Harden dribbled out the shot clock and took a horrible shot.

It was a disgrace to Horns.

 

Listen to the last part. Clear diss for Harden, go out after the game.......

Actually it's not a diss at anyone, it's a general statement for a team that has given up that they are already looking towards their vacation.

I know people think these guys only live for basketball but it's their job. makes sense that the first thing guys do after the season is go on vacation.

 

They were mentioning that we as a team didn't come into the season improving on offense.or.defense, yoi can't use analytics only to build a team and expect greatness without the eye test. Also mentioned that when it was 88-85, we tried making homerun plays by shooting contested 3s and also looked disinterested after that score as well, especially Dwight.
