Not surprised. Still think he'll go to the Wizards though

Daryl Morey and James Harden share an interest in a threesome with Scotty Brooks? — Carl Herrera

    ...

Thibodeau, Brooks & Van Gundy — really, those are the only 3 candidates?

I have a theory that Morey might be throwing these rumors out there so all the coaches he has interest in know that the Rockets job is open and hopefully the coaches will wait and not be scooped up by other organizations. ;)

    When would they otherwise occur?

I think there are just a few decent coaching candidates out there so teams are jumping on them like a bum jumps on a baloney sandwich.

If Les is keeping Morey, Please, please hire Thibs and give him control over team players, trades and draft. Morey can stay as GM run the "contract" and analysis side of basketball. Thibs please!

Never hire a coach your superstar wants, that is a recipe for disaster for the team.

Hire a coach you will think will be good for your superstar, not who your superstar thinks will be good for him as a coach.

Why? He got run out of town in Chicago by both players and management, and he basically wore out both Deng and Joakim Noah to a nub. The sad part is, all that and Chicago win a ring. IIRC they didn't even reach the finals, so basically they had the same result as the Rox except the Rox plays in a tougher conference and started out with broken down Yao Mac and the oldest team in the league whereas Chicago started out with lottery picks in Rose and Noah.
