You basically regurgitated exactly what you stated before with the only difference being that you stated each individual fg% by year. How does that change or counter my argument? It still applies. Harden looks for the foul more often on contested finishes thus those difficult contested finishes arn't counted agaisnt him where he tries to draw the foul while Westrbrook will actually attempt to finish those difficult dunks/lay ups thus any miss would count as a miss.

Basically Westbrook attempts far more difficult finishes around the rim. He's still a better finisher

I enjoy watching him attack the rim and dribbling and the stepback fadeaway. I don't enjoy the chucking up shots, lackadaisical effort on defense, character flaws, among some other things. I probably wouldn't be a big fan of his if he were on another team, I wouldn't respect him.

If Harden wasn't on the Rockets, I would absolutely hate him. It's obvious he doesn't even try to finish at the rim and goes for the foul first and foremost. Really, our only argument towards other team's fans is "But look at his numbers!"

So by this logic Harden is a much better 3 point shooter than Klay Thompson.

Harden takes a **** ton of very difficult heavily guarded off the dribble 3s, while Klay feasts off assisted wide open looks.

Don't come at me with the actual field goals percentage results. It's easy to see that Harden takes more highly contested difficult threes therefor he is better than Klay who just makes easy ones for the most part.

So youre saying he only goes for the fouls but is actually effective in finishing? Are the refs that incompetent or do they worship harden as well?

Yes, the refs are incompetent. That's actually a very possible conclusion.

If harden played against us in the playoffs most of this board would call him an overrated no defense playing flopping POS who gets gifted free throws by the refs.

Just look at how people changed thier opinion of dwight once he became a rocket.

J Sizzle, the arbiter of GARM debates. With is vast amount of wisdom and knowledge, he has the last say in who is 'debunked'. For he holds the gavel of final judgement.

I liked Hardens game in OKC and during his first year as a Rocket. Have not been a fan since (last year a minor exception).

I disagree with those who say his offensive game is ugly or unathletic, I find it rather explosive and skillful. The only dislike I have with Hardens game is when he intentionally lunges and hooks his arm(s) under the defenders arm to get to the line, but that is just tiny negative, compared to his impressive first step, eurostep, stepback jumper and ability to playmake.

Why am I not a James Harden fan then... simply because for two of the last three years, the dude has simply often not even bothered to try, to make an effort on the defensive end. As a sports fan, I'd rather watch and root for the less talented player who gives effort and heart than a super talented player who plays like he couldn't be bothered.

Watching Harden, when he actually tries on defense is shockingly different than when he doesn't. IMO Harden is one of the worst defender in the NBA, but not due to lack of talent or abilities. Whens he is engaged on defense, Harden is more than capable of being a good defender. He is quick enough, more than strong enough and has a good reach. Unfortunately that engaged Harden is a rarity on defense, replaced instead by a player who stands straight up, walking if not standing on defense more than any player I've ever watched.

And that, i can't be a fan of.

I like Josh Smith's game. It's like a mystery box, you never know what you're going to get, you can even get a boat!

Yes, since this is a thread about a subjective debate about Harden's game, yes, his finishing around the rim visually is rather unpleasant and boring.

You presented a claim, jordnnnn easily debunked it with...you know...actual facts..., and you've basically responded by saying "oh yea? Well those facts are wrong!"

If you hate Harden and his game, that's fine! It's totally fine! It's not the prettiest game I've seen either. Just don't present claims as fact, get proven wrong, then bury your head in the sand about it.

They are data points. You know the term 'correlation doesn't automatically mean causation'. His data doesn't CONCLUSIVELY merit a statement that Harden is a better finisher than Westrbrook BECAUSE of the context I put forth which is a legitimate context.

at least we know NBA players criteria for MVP is not how high someone jumps or how visually attractive the contour is LOL
