It wouldn't matter, with a pick that good Morey would draft Royce White (and I don't mean a new version, I'm actually saying he'd take Royce again, lolololol). Okok maybe not Royce (I know he can't do that)... But with whatever pick he took the one after (or a few after) would be like a superstar.

If I were getting drafted and my future depended on it, I would want to be drafted after Morey's pick.

 

Don't get me wrong... Maybe he could trade up, he might be okay at the 1-5 spot

I feel like that pick could be useful, but I also think: Let them get embarrassed.

We can see if Harden will truly always show up in the playoffs,

these players will learn that being the underdog is actually bad,

Morey may actually want to make more changes,

Harden will actually learn from this season and series and take that to improve his game and not think he is the real MVP,

everyone will truly look in the mirror and come in ready for the preseason and season and actually solve their problems instead of acting as if there is nothing seriosly wrong with themselves.

players will stop being delusional with their words and expectations,

and leadership will actually be a priority by Morey.

I still think the Rockets are at their best with their back against the wall

There is going to be 1 or 2 close games (without betting on the outcome)

I think 4-1 GSW is realistic right now

Our team still isn't at its best

Last year we were and we won 2 games I believe

Sorry, this is NOT what the people clamoring for the playoffs were saying at the time. Now that it's clear that the team is overmatched, we're hearing this "that's great, they NEED to be embarrassed!" narrative. Not saying you specifically fit this description, but others definitely do.

When the Rockets tried to trade DMo, some of these same folks were relentlessly bashing them for "giving up on the season". They thought the team was headed for great things, if only mgmt would get with the program and let them prove it. Getting embarrassed was NEVER the reason for them wanting the Rockets to make the playoffs. Don't be fooled people. If embarrassment was the goal, being in the lottery is the ultimate embarrassment, no matter how bad this series gets.

 

It was stupid to make the playoffs with this group of players. Point blank and period. Anyone disagrees is definitely drinking the kool aid.

But this is EXACTLY what some of us wanted in making the playoffs.....we know that there is little chance - but at least there IS a chance, and if the team somehow gets it together (Unlikely) great, but more than likely they are embarrased, the owner is embarrassed and we clean house, including a GM (Unless we hire a BBall guy as his equal).

They expected to loose their way pick thus the reason for the Dmo trade. But I hate to say making the playoffs this year was there worst mistake.

Nah, us having another Sam Dekker, or Royce White, or Patrick Patterson, or well any number of "OK" players that are worse than DMo is not going to help in Harden's time he is signed for....

Let's let Harden get in the playoffs and either rise up or fail, nothing is better for a player getting better than getting pwned.

Adding a player better than Harden (Durant), although I think near possible, would do wonders for the organization and Hardens game at this point of his career.

A pick would help and preferably traded for an upgrade. Imo
