So he voted no not because he wanted to protect the purity of basketball but because he doesn't want to share his Chinese ads revenue? Is that what I should get from this thread?
Does anyone know if the Rockets organization is affected by this ZTE sanction? http://www.bloomberg.com/gadfly/articles/2016-03-07/a-u-s-ban-on-sales-to-china-s-zte-could-backfire
i have always liked Les and think we are lucky to have him as an owner. And i never agreed with the narrative that he is cheap. While I don't agree with every decision he makes, especially about the cost and corporatization of stadium seating, his passion to win is undeniable and i do think that's his top priority.
They already announced the league-wide ad is the Nike Swoosh. Except for Charlotte, which will have the Nike Jordan Brand silhouette.
Funny, he didn't want to share. Les is cheap - he is greedy - at least recognize the way he is.....why is anyone surprised he was a Wall Street trader - he is not going to change now. Maybe he will sell sometime soon and cash in...and we can get an ownership group that is all about winning over money. DD
Look at how Kobe went out with the lakers.. With honor and respect for all he did for the Buss family. Look at how we treated Hakeem during his finals years.. Nuff said.. Dream should have had the heroes farewell similar to Kobe. Les is cheap and everyone is an asset, hence his desire to hire Morey.
I look at the Dream situation as just business. But you are absolutely right; he should have retired a rocket. Not sure that advances the argument about Les being cheap. Disloyal, cutthroat, less than classy ...maybe, but not sure it qualifies him as "cheap".
They could probably make even more money if they'd put ads on the back of Power Dancers' shorts. I tend to look in that direction every now and then.....
