Why don't you make this plea in a different thread? A basic rule of etiquette is you shouldn't go into other people's threads and force a change of topic you don't like. it makes you look like a troll.

So lets keep to the topic at hand. This guy is making an argument that public atheists are terrorists. I guess such nutty sentiments ultimately have some roots in Islam itself and its not just a Saudi regional thing, considering the spate of murderous attacks against public atheists in Bangladesh (since you mentioned that country). What's your take on that?

The Saudis should be deposed anyway - they are a terrible regime, and should be run out of their own country.

    Just a HUGE correction here.

He is absolutely NOT seen as the most progressive in the Middle East by any means. Just some very specific parts of a few gulf countries, which comprise a minority of Arabs and a majority of the wealth. Those particular parts of Arabia consider him a progressive and extremists to be just a tad too religious.

Everyone else is fully aware that he is a conservative, although not an especially religious one.

Progressivism is not about veils and fancy buildings. It's about actual values and principles.

do you know he is Rupert Murdoch partner! even for American that's no way is conservative!

if you think he is not a religiously conservative , then in what area exactly he is one! has to be something

his network group productions generally are the equivalent of MTV, even American public channels are way more conservative than his , Dude , most Billy-dancers signed life-time contract with him !!here is an example of one of his network art production

thats has actual merit, too bad most parts of ME derided for lacking whats mentioned above

are you familiar with the ancient Hindu's concept in regard to human distribution of people order & classes!, no one knows exactly when it was spreads , but one thing for sure ,its still running strong , it is even might be a part of (white-blue collar) things ...in the West

here is in Quran a strange chapter :

Say: O ye that reject Faith! (1) I do not worship what you worship, (2) Nor will ye worship that which I worship. (3) nor am I serving what you have served, (4) Nor will you worship Whom I worship. (5) Yours shall be your requital, and mine shall be my requital. (6).

the strange things about it at least to me , it was a chapter that repeated in same context a few times , despite that , many elect to ignore it. the same ignorance applied toward over 37 verses that consider :freedom of beliefs a human basic given rights .

historically speaking , a glorified scholar in mid of crusader/Mongolian wars , issued his fatwa that see those who denounce Islam in aim to spread their blood as an act of treason . ironically the same scholar spent the last days of his life in prison, someone thought of him as a dangerous individual who needs to be eliminated .

his fatwa stayed on shelves for centuries before a hard-liner clerk in Egypt decided to renew this fatwa, Mr.Qutb was a a political prisoner who was under sever prosecution and in jail he wrote his most Violent and indignant books that inspired generation of political religious motivated sector.

on other hand , we have secular government, that has constitution based identically on French counterpart, and guess what , the same distortion of principles and values took places . hint: Assad regime still believe Syrian run by the same secular ,liberal open minded ruling class as in Paris !

This is why there is no point discussing anything with you. You have been debating with people on here for ages about this subject and you can't even conceive the basic existence of a conservative non-religious Arab.

I am aware that you disagree with me but not sure why-how exactly, if you have a point to begin with, try adding some substance that defines what you thinks ,might be worth a debate/argument then

do you realize that was exactly my point :)

if someone accused you of intelligence ,the accusation would be dismissed for lack of evidence
