Everyone is about protecting the QB in Houston right now and not in the literal terms. It's viewed that the best way to do that is to nab some explosive playmakers with speed or size or BOTH. I feel like you can usually find a good Randall Cobb, Julian Edelman, Emmanuel Sanders, or Allen Hurns at the back end of the draft but this team is notorious for drafting the dudes of Devier Posey, Trindon Holliday, Alan Bonner, Keshawn Martin, Dorin Dickerson, and to an extent Jacoby Jones' caliber.

I would love to get a top notch OT in the first but it doesn't look like they'll be available at our slot. A'Shawn Robinson is one DL that I would like but we'll see how high or low he goes.

This trade sucks... that is a LOT of talent for Titans to acquire. In a year or 2 AFC South is going to be somebody. If Osweiler exceeds expectations, we will reign supreme for a while over an actually good division, if he disappoints then we could be looking at the bottom of our division pretty soon.

I know it. That is a TON of opportunities for talent for them. I hope they just "Titan" each of those picks and end up with a roster full of Jake Lockers.

I'd really like to get some more weapons for Brock, but at the same time another elite pass rusher would be nice since all these AFC South teams have QBs now. Got to put a hurting on them. Clowney staying healthy might make going for a pass rusher early not necessary but he already seems like Foster where you know at some point he will get hurt.

    Exactly.

Sucks for Goff (or Wentz?), too, because that's a lot of pressure. Face of the franchise, LA, football is back, hard knocks, etc., etc.

None of these QBs stand out to me as guys that can live up to that much pressure, but I'd say my gut says Wentz could hold up better than Goff.

The more I think about it the more I like it. The Titans and Jags need to stop being total laughingstocks, when they're competitive it's so much more fun to hate them.

I feel like I'd be pretty happy with a number of options at #22. TE, WR, OL, DT, & S are all areas of concern. I think we can manage at WR & TE for another year, especially if Strong & Brock develop a nice chemistry, so my preference at #22 would be to actually trade down and grab Chris Jones or Clark. I wish Ryan Kelly would fall, but that looks doubtful, although a couple of teams may be WR-happy (Detroit, Washington) and pass on Kelly.

If we go the way of WR, I'd target Doctson. Dude is incredible and can actually run routes.

I'll keep preaching, that if they don't draft a D-lineman in the 1st round it will be a huge failure.

There are plenty of speed/slot WR in the draft that you can hold off in the 1st rd. Strong is a boundary receiver anyway, and all these mocks for Coleman/Fuller don't make sense.

There isn't a TE in this draft worthy of being taken in the 1st either.

I wouldn't be mad at a safety in the 1st, but as I've said that line needs all the bodies they can draft for it.

I'm much less concerned with drafting any O-line early as well. Much bigger needs are there to focus on.

I agree about d-linemen and safety but you could argue that this draft is deep with d-linemen that you could get quality in the 2nd. However, there is a big difference between Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper and also between Hooper and Jerrel Adams. I'm not a proponent for getting WR in the 1st but it's very probable that Treadwell, Coleman, Doctson, Fuller, Shepherd, and Boyd are gone in the 2nd. Those are the top 6 in my opinion and they could all go between 22 and 52. That said, I really don't see them picking a WR in the 1st.

Myles Jack is going to fall:

    Thought dump:

Will Fuller and Corey Coleman have been mocked to the Texans a lot, but while both have elite speed they have serious issues with drops.

If the Texans feel Jalen Strong can make the jump in his 2nd year to start opposite of Hopkins, I wouldn't mind them going offensive line and getting either Ryan Kelly or Nick Martin who both project as NFL caliber starting centers and grabbing Sterling Shepard in the 2nd to play in the slot. Dude catches everything thrown his way, has 4.4 speed, and can also double as the punt/kick returner

I dont know anything about prospects/ fits/ etc...but he's been pretty high on most mocks, IIRC some experts had him as the best player in the draft.

Would you pick him at 22 with that injury concern? Too good of a prospect to pass up?

I agree. I'd rather take a DT that falls or an offensive lineman in the first and take Shepard or Braxton Miller in the second.

As I said in the thread I started, my gut tells me O'Brien will love Miller.

I think they should go OL.
It's not just Brock, it's Miller as well.
This team shouldn't be about "we got Brock... unleash him!!"
It needs to and can have a great balance of run/pass
But needs help on the OL
