NYC mayor de Blasio makes racist joke in scripted skit with Hillary Clinton

It's Big Puffery.

 

"Nigerians and Ghanaians aren't like African Americans.
Nigerians and Ghanaians have a good work ethic and positive attitudes."

It's not racist because African Americans and Nigerians and Ghanaians are all ostensibly of the same race. But it is a generalized statement about groupings of people that implies negative connotations for one group and discounts any individualism in any of them.

It's not that the joke was terribly offensive or anything. It's just that it's idiotic for a presidential campaign to even hint at a racial joke. It's never going to turn out well in this hyper-sensitive climate.

And the joke wasn't funny at all.

 

It was a good joke that de Blasio ruined with his delivery. Hopefully, he apologized to Secretary Clinton.

That would be a nice gotcha if Hillary Clinton actually paid or controlled the salaries of the Clinton Foundation.

Further wasn't Sanders paying his interns less than what he advocates for a minimum wage?

 

Also just to add I find it interesting that Sanders supporters are now citing conservative supporters to attack Clinton. As I've stated before it seems like many on the left have just bought into the caricature of Hillary Clinton by the right.
