They wanted to soften him up so they can beat down on the Lakers for a much needed win. Kobe 1-11 a -43 +/-

I understand it's business but everytime I hear a brand in front of an award, it makes it sound less meaningful. Like Kia nba MVP award. Or Sprite slam dunk champion. But I guess it's better than having brand logos on uniforms instead.

I respect Kobe and what he's done. I hate the Lakers and I never liked going against Kobe. I can't join in on this Mamba Memories moment. SO LONG GAYyyyyyyyyyyyyyy boy.
I respect the guy. No doubt about it. People here in LA view him as a God, but come on... the news coverage here is a tad ridiculous. They even changed the Metro Pico Station to the Kobe Station for the day. Going to be sad, but what will even be worse... is the Laker fans jumping off this sh**** bandwagon and hoping on the Warriors. I can already see it...

Hero worship at its finest. I don't respect Kobe. In fact, I never even watched any of his games really. The Lakers never played the grizzlies in the playoffs. I was never a kobe fan and I never will be a kobe fan.
20 years and the Lakers don't know what their own superstar looks like. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Lakers?src=hash">#Lakers</a> are giving fans sitting courtside tonight this toy 'replica' of Kobe. Haha, why are they passing out Ving Rhames dolls on Kobe night? Anyways, looks like Kobe finally got that elusive sixth ring. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The Lakers gave Kobe Bryant a retirement ring prior to tonight's game. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/MambaDay?src=hash">#MambaDay</a> <a href="https://t.co/WgxvXxADyG">pic.twitter.com/WgxvXxADyG</a></p>— GM Hoops (@GM_Hoops) <a href="https://twitter.com/GM_Hoops/status/720434624330145796">April 14, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
