Being a Rockets fan on a Rockets board is not a cult. The cult is usually the one where a group of many worship one person for a particular reason. Either skill, belief he is a super being, or in this case, race.

It doesn't. He's lost his starting role to the likes of Pat Beverley and Ronnie Price. He's not a star player or even a starter and there's no racial conspiracy against him. He's an inconsistent role player, same as he's always been, and that's unlikely to change. He's shot 39% since the All-Star break and his numbers this year are the worst they've been in his career but you wouldn't know that fron the stupidity posted in this thread by his fans because a lot of their identities as people are tied to Jeremy Lin. They can't hande the truth because his play and the perception of him around the league is inherently personal to them. They project themselves onto him. When he sucks they feel less than and angry and then when he plays well they feel vindicated as people. It's sad frankly. The size of this thread has nothing to do with Lin but rather the Lin trolls and idiots, many of which thankfully left, that flood this board with nonsense.
Everything you typed is true. Which is why you shouldn't let random internet kids rile you up so much. Who cares if they live vicariously through an average NBA player? Do their opinions affect the way you go about your daily routine? Ignore the idiots and move on. I don't get why people waste their time arguing with people who are clearly biased morons.
We care because of the way they behaved and continue to behave on this board towards Rockets fans, players, coaches, and Clutch himself. When someone relentlessly attacks people and things important to you then you don't tend to ignore it or forget it. Hopefully any future threads will simply be closed and this group can go screw with Charlotte's fans.
