He left Toronto to sign with Orlando NOT the Rockets??? Why is this even news on here? Oh that's right, Tinman has nothing else to talk about.

And yet you STILL missed the point. This is not about Houston. It would be about Orlando.

TMac did NOT say he wished he never left Orlando... he said he wished he never left Toronto... for... O-R-L-A-N-D-O.

But tinmac logic doesn't compute that does it.

Yes we get it. Can you have your caretaker change your bedpan now?

With Kobe having said "i was close to signing with the clippers," it reminds me of when he said he really wanted to play for the Wizards to play with Jordan and of course when he wanted a trade to Chicago but wouldn't allow it bc they would have had to trade the whole team for Kobe and thats too hard for Kobe. Kobe likes it nice and easy with Shaq and a dominant front line his whole career.

Of course Tinman isn't obsessed with Kobe....but if T-MAC says anything similar, its because he's a loser.

No. "Nice & Easy" is taking your talents to South Beach to team up 2 superstar buddies. Nobody's had it more easy than Lebron

Oh you won't find me argue with that. Easiest road to the finals his entire career. Some people are actually impressed by his 6 finals appearances as if it's amazing that he routinely beats 40 win teams and injury riddled teams or no star having team of good role players his entire career. Best team he ever beat was the Detroit Pistons minus 4x DPOTY Ben Wallace and minus Larry Brown.

I mean of course his road to the finals in the East. Of course the Spurs and Thunder are the best teams he ever beat, but he was on the best team in the league too.

LeBron has played as long as Jordan, Bird and Magic and Lebron has only beaten 7 50 win teams in his entire playoff career. 2 of those are the Spurs and Thunder in the finals. That's 5 50 win teams in the EC he beat in his entire decade long run which equals 6 finals trips. By comparison Michael Jordan beat 20 50 win teams. What's sadder is that 2 more of those 50 win teams are last seasons injury riddled Bulls and the anomaly Hawks with no star power. That means before last season, in as long of a career as Magic(beat 13), Bird(beat 10), Jordan(beat 20), LeBron only beat 3 50 win teams.

So we agree on Lebron. But don't act like Kobe piggybacked too. Shaq was the most dominant but he was a liability down the stretch his whole career. The Lakers needed Kobe as much as they needed Shaq. The other 2 championships had Pau Gasol & Andrew Bynum. Pau is a skilled bigman in today's game but Bynum was just big. It's not like that Lakers team was by far the most talented team. You can make a argument they were among the least talented championship teams assembled

Part of the root of your problem is you don't think TMac wanted to win.

A dude doesn't cry (embarassingly) at a press conference if he doesn't want to win that badly.
A dude also doesn't derail his own platinum superstar career to fake an injury.

Some things don't have a happy ending. That's life. TMac reps Houston and put his heart into the game when he was here.

I have wanted to post this for so long, but just couldn't make myself do it. Thanks to someone else for taking the fall. With any luck Tinman will just short-circuit.

As far as Kobe, I just can't forgive the league for the all-time classic Lakers-Kings rig job.

We should be talking about that Kings team the same way people look back on that '03 Pistons team.

If he stayed in Toronto and never left, he would never be in Orlando, Houston, New York, Atlanta, Detroit, San Antonio, China, Sugarland Skeeters

You really don't think Carter, McGrady, or Iverson or any top flight SG could have replaced Kobe with Shaq drawing double and triple teams?

You forgot to mention Odom. Bynum(healthy was playing great) Gasol(HOFer and still playing at elite level at his age), Odom(Length, point forward). Those Lakers dominated everyone because of their massive front line length. Then they had nice role players too like Ariza, Fisher the first year and Artest the 2nd time and of course Phil Jackson.

Gasol led Lakers in Wins Shared both those regular season runs of 65 wins and 57 wins when they won back to back. Gasol also led the Lakers in Wins Shared both playoff runs and both Finals wins.

Kobe led WS in 07-08 regular season because of one simple fact, they traded for Gasol late season. Kobe ended up leading the team in WS during the playoffs but thats because Gasol wasn't being used right yet and it ultimately cost them in the Finals vs Boston as Kobe chucked away with his 40%...of course Bynum being hurt didn't help but he was still only 20 that season.

Of course when you look back at that roster, it sounds like nothing special in hindsight, but you have to look at the entire league at that time. There were a lot of very weak teams. League was very top heavy and only continued to be so when LeBron chumped out and went to Miami.

A bunch of what if scenarios.

The only Scenario I like is the one with Tribe and Busta Rhymes

Yeah penalize those guys for being drafted to loser franchises while Kobe demanded to only play for one of the best franchises in all of sports and got to play with 2 prime HOF'ers and tons of great role players and former all stars and great Refs on their side.
