With comic book movies all getting a bit tired for me, i find that trailer very different and refreshing for the genre. Getting a horror director was a big risk but it looks like it's going to pay off. Very excited now.

Very good and encouraging trailer for a great Marvel character.

    Only 7 more months. :(

Still concerned about them getting this guy right.

Been following this one for awhile and I really love the cast. It looks great and very true to the comics as usual. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I was a lot more skeptical of ant man.

Has a different feel than other Marvel movies which is a great thing. That's how it should be. Good trailer.

Agreed 100%. Marvel keeps making the right moves. In other news, Suicide Squad goes back for more reshoots to add the entire magic/ethereal feel to their flick.

Um......The reshoots were to add to the action/exterior scenes since WB ask them if they wanted to do so. It had NOTHING to do with humor.

    Find a new joke.

    I agree.

Doctor Strange is about as offbeat a character as anyone you'd find in comic books. His archetype - vanity/arrogance-turned-insight-brooding-modesty was always appealing to me, personally.

Marvel Studios is beholden to only the characters it chooses to promote...and not movie studios or corporate licenses. That trailer shown earlier in this thread highlights that model as much as anything Marvel has done in the past 8 years.

It remains to be seen, of course, but the re-telling of the Doctor's origin around 2006 in the comics was seminal for the character (I kind of thought of it as a Frank Miller/Batman:Year One piece). If that can happen for this movie, especially given what we've seen from the Marvel Cinematic Universe up to this point, particularly technologically, as a tonal counterpoint...

...boy, hard to not see this picture raking in a cool half-billion in its theatrical run alone.

This is one I will see in somebody's theater...

It'll make more than that. A Marvel movie making less than 700m at this point would be considered a 'failure'. Ant-Man made about $500m, but I believe this will be a much easier sell to the common audience.

Marvel is peaking and jontro continues to fap.

Would a Marvel vs Capcom be out of the question say... after 2025?

Ant-Man was successful enough to get Marvel to change its plans and to add a sequel a schedule that was already packed before Spider-Man.

$500m more than justifies a sequel based off the existing budget. They weren't expecting much from it, and they know that the sequel will make more money since it's now a known commodity.
I'm saying the Marvel name will get you $400-$500m at this point.

(It doesn't hurt that they make solid movies, and word of mouth is a bigger seller than it's ever been)
