If ya'll are frustrated tonight seeing the Astros loose by 1 run against the MLB champs after kickin their azz last night it's gonna be a long year of criticisms and depression for sure lol
It's too many runs to give up before you even have an out in the first inning, yes. Changes the complexion of the whole game
It's not that hard, Reed should be playing first and White DH. They'll waste losses waiting to bring up Reed like they did Correa last year though. Oh well, maybe next year we'll be at full strength earlier than 2 months into the season.
That is stupid. He could have k'd the first 15 batters and gave up a walk, base hit, and a homerun and results would be the same.
IF the Stros had a better road trip, the sentiment wouldn't be as bad. I don't think anyone is giving up on the season, but this game was frustrating. We beat ourselves.
he's saying gattis will need a few ab's to get going no biggie. and he was just a few inches away from leading off the 9th with a walk!
Except he didn't. The whole point of the "different complexion on the game" comment is that giving up those early runs changes what happened the rest of the game
King of hype George Springer! Yes, please, send the G's — Gattis & Gomez — on their way. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">So he's already back in midseason form <a href="https://t.co/7nptZzzGuZ">https://t.co/7nptZzzGuZ</a></p>— Ben DuBose (@BenDuBose) <a href="https://twitter.com/BenDuBose/status/720088056892497920">April 13, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
If that happens, and Gomez continues to struggle, he will be traded and Tucker plays LF. 1. Altuve 2b 2. Springer cf, i like him more as leadoff, i feel he does better in that spot 3. Correa 4. Rasmus rf 5. Reed 1b 6. White dh 7. Tukcer lf 8. Valbuena 3b 9. Castro c
Don't cherry pick. Gattis isn't around for his OBP--he makes up with his SLG. His OPS was 5th in the AL among DHs at .748. (6th if you count Sano's 279 ABs). Gattis still wasn't a great DH--he was middle of the pack. And yes, Tucker has definitely looked better over 7 games this season. But I don't think anyone expects Tucker to continue at a 1.264 OPS clip this season. (And many expect Gattis to improve on last season a bit.)
Things that can be corrected and yea there were some dumb plays...Royals needed every last one of them to convert a win that's for sure
There has to be some element of a long-term view. If that's the clear path, they should still try to have Gattis show some value (maybe even at C) so they can trade him for more.
Right, lol! People have been anointing him a cornerstone player since he's been called up. Maybe people need to start lowering their expectations of him.
teams trying to win a championships and wasting ab's/games to showcase bums in efforts to sucker unsuspecting GM's to trade for them gotta be a rare to non-existent breed.
Wow... Last season was that long ago, I guess. I know it's somehow his fault he got his hand broken which basically took the Astros out of the drivers seat for the division... Cornerstone players don't do that, I suppose. I hope to see as much knee-jerk and hate/love/hate in game 127 as we are getting in game 7 of 162.
