Can't believe the Stros haven't been able to get that big hit against Medlen. He's crafty-ish with his off-speed stuff, and has just enough life on that fastball to give his off-speed stuff more respect.
Had to run out for just a 'bit, saw that Gomez had a double. Was it a nice hit or a blooper? Hoping he is starting to turn things around a 'bit. Had a nice walk earlier, and a solid double for a hit would certainly help out.
Nice job by Fiers shutting them down after giving up 3 runs to first 3 batters Gave us a chance to win at least
As for the complaining of the crowd attendance....the crowd was electric last night. If they weren't fully packed, so be it. If they remain that loud on big games (Opening nights, Friday/Saturday Nights), I'll be happy. Tuesday nights are just a hard draw.
Shame he started off rusty to the first three hitters, he's looked pretty sharp afterwards with a few hiccups on hard hit balls. Overall, a solid game thrown against the defending world champions. I'd say McHugh/Fiers earned their bounce back starts.
Sparce April crowds have been the norm for every year except 2000 and 2004. Complaining about space April crowds have been the norm on clutchfans since forever.
He's saying if it played out the way it did and he threw to first with the first baseman standing on bag and CC on first that would take the force away and he would be safe. Now if after bobbling the ball then throwing to 2nd Rasmus would have beat the throw to first. Wheeeww.
