It's not as easy as it looks, nor as easy as people say it is, but I am really impressed with White at 1B so far. Spending your whole career at 3B certainly helps with the glove and reaction time. Only downside defensively versus Reed is that Reed is lefthanded.
White could stretch a little more (insert Hawk Harrelson), but overall, he's doing a good job defensively.
Their team philosophy is to be very aggressive on the bases. There's nothing wrong with that, it's the brainless stupid stuff they do (getting caught leaning when there's no reason to have a lead, etc...) that is so frustrating. Take the good with the bad, maybe?
Oh in the end it's the players who have to improve But when it's team wide and happens so often, it's an issue that needs to be fixed. By fixed I don't mean it can't ever happen, we need to stay aggressive and mistakes will happen, but it's a ridiculous level right now
Last year we saw GAttis playing ALL THE TIME, while Tucker sitting and watching the game from the dugout, well, tonight is deja vu all over again, lol
If they did it right. If the first baseman is standing on the bag as he receives the throw (which he was), that eliminates the tag of Correa as being an out. EDIT - That being said, perhaps Hosmer would have reacted differently had Correa done that.
Agreed if the first baseman didn't have the forethought of seeing CC stay at bag and stepping off but I see what ya saying.
