Hinch certainly considers loyalty in making his decisions thus far.

That would've been fine too--I don't see a huge difference personally. I think he would've been in the lineup tomorrow then, and people would've said the same thing. "Tucker is hot, Gattis sucks because he's 0-1 and has never done anything good" etc.

Like by post says above Tucker has higher upside moving forward and should get more ABs at DH

I know. Gattis should be solid be he's nothing special and not a better choice at DH moving forward than Tucker.

Nothing wrong with that. Should mainly hinge on production moving forward hopefully.

Unless Tucker went 0-5 tonight and his average dropped from .333 to .250

In which case some would be saying "we can't have a .250 hitter as our DH"

    Just how the garm is

I'm with you at this point (depending on how the season goes for both of them going forward). But with the string of righties, perhaps Hinch wanted to get Gattis a game in early on rather than having him ride the pine.

Nice. Just got home, and to my surprise game is on root sports. I thought it was mlb only.

What is there to say Tucker's upside is higher?

A lot of people thought Gattis would hit 35 HR in our park playing full time, he didn't have a good year ....he isn't a 35 year old on the backside of his career though.....I think both of them have big upsides with the bat, both have a not so great floor too

Like other things it will work itself out with time

Tucker is younger and is already a better hitter than Gattis. I think Gattis is a solid bat and I hope he can catch some because that's where we could use his bat more.

    Fiers still getting hit hard.

Fortunately, the last few have been outs.

    Let's get some runs, Stros.

Agree with this. Not the biggest Gattis fan, but he likely had a down year last year. I like Tucker. Just enjoying the watching them right now.

Springer starting to take what the pitcher is giving him. Doesn't need to kill the ball each time, a single will do.

We need to have a practice specifically on base running.

Whoever is in charge of base running should be fired. Christ.

The second one is so much more important than the first one.
