The only way he is going to help and be really good with us is as a catcher.

Dumb to put Gattis right back in there especially against a righty. Gattis right now is a weak link in this lineup.

Pretty sure CC killed that inning long before Gattis did.

CC is still the best player on the team though and will come through more times than not. Gattis right now is one of the weaker bats in the lineup and he's replacing one of the stronger bats to start the season. Doesn't make much sense.

He doesn't even have to be really good.

Just needs to... 1) hit like he did last year 2) not be a disaster behind the plate

Those numbers as a catcher he would be an All Star, as a DH is below average

It's not "cool" to say bad things about CC though

I seriously think there are a couple here who wanted Gattis to have a bad at bat so they could b**** about him playing

I agree. Just saying, give the dude a chance. Hell, Tucker started 0-1 this season too. Was it over for him?

Regardless, I think Tucker should be back in tomorrow. It's not like he was going to play 162.

Bobby doesn't quite have the strength to hit one out tonight.

Hinch seems to be getting better in some areas managing the game but this wasn't a move of his I'm a fan of. Gattis should be mainly playing against lefties and given a shot at backup catcher hopefully. Tucker has higher upside then Gattis going forward as the teams DH because he just flat out a better hitter than Gattis.

Maybe let him get back in the dugout with his teammates and bring him in as a PH for first game back?
