Watch, I bet Corey Brewer will play 20+ minutes a game in the Playoffs and make 2.2 points. LMAO

If Rockets beat GSW in the first round, we will play vs. the Wonderland Fairy Blazers next.

I agree he's a terrible coach. But let's entertain this fantasy scenario. The 41-41 Rockets defeat the 73-9 Golden State Warriors who also happen to be the defending champs in the first round. This is statistically speaking probably the biggest playoff upset in the history of the league. Even bigger than Denver over Seattle in 1994 or Golden State over Dallas in 2007(the Warriors did own the Mavs that year despite their respective records).

How the hell do you fire a coach who just pulled that off? Maybe eventually you replace him if he's not getting the job done in the regular season, but not during the offseason. Or maybe JB gets fed up and steps down himself next year like Dan Issel did in Denver in 1995(and ironically was replaced by JB's dad).

Well, I guess if we pull the biggest upset in NBA history, we can give JB an extra 11 games next season...

I mean, it would be terrible if Steph or Draymond got hurt. Just awful.

this thread is awesome, btw. I believe that after beating the Twin Powerhouses that are the 2015-2016 Lakers and Timberwolves, we can beat anybody. WE ARE INVINCIBLE!!!

The best case scenario (I don't see us beating the warriors, when their complex offensive and defensive system is geared to take advantage of teams that are inconsistent i.e. rockets) is that we give GSW a good run for their money, with the series ending 4-3 Warriors. Free agents like Durant and Horford would then observe how good this team can be, attracting them to the Rockets believing that they can finally help a team topple the warriors.

Sorry friend, I'm sad to have to remind you of this - but the key step here is to...remain calm.

We are sitting at tantalizingly close to .500 and the 8th seed. The yin and yang are only a victory over the shorthanded Kings away from being in perfect balance....forever.

Not sure if you realize the gravity of the situation, though I admit, it is hard stay sanguine sometimes, but we must do it.

    We owe it to ourselves.

"Surprise" as in one win, perhaps.

All I remember is this and feeling if we can steal a game in GSW:
    * Force them off the 3 point line
    * D12 and Clint control the paint
    * PBev actually play Mr. 94ft
    * Trevor guarding Curry at some point
    * Shooting out of our mind

"In maybe the greatest playoff upset in NBA history, the Golden State Warriors completely dismantled the No. 1 seed Dallas Mavericks on Thursday en route to a 111-86 Game 6 victory in front of a boisterous home crowd.
Stephen Jackson played like a man possessed, drilling 7-of-8 3-pointers to total 33 points. Hobbled by a strained hamstring, Baron Davis gave an inspired performance by tallying 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, while his former college roommate, Matt Barnes, collected 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. It is only the third time in NBA history that an No. 8 seed has bested a No. 1 seed, and the first time ever in a seven-game series.

Dallas, which won a franchise-best 67 games this season and was the defending Western Conference Champions, was led by Jerry Stackhouse's and Josh Howard's 20 points. MVP candidate Dirk Nowitzki struggled, shooting 2-of-13 from the field, finishing with eight points and 10 rebounds. The Mavs join the 1994 Sonics and the 1999 Heat as the only other top seeds to fall to an No. 8 seed in the playoffs. "

You should of put a poll for this crappy thread. You really think we have a chance against this GSW powerhouse who is going to roll over our ass? They're already thinking about the Semifinals.

Personally, I think GSW is tired... They've played a lot of games at a high level for a long time frame.

Then Harden must exhausted. It doesn't matter how high level you play, if your team has great ball movement with multiple opportunities to create there's a balance of equal effort among the players. Houston doesn't have that kind of balance. Harden will have to take on the burden yet again.

This is Silvers NBA now. He has very hands off approach to governing the league. I wonder if Rockets get a legitimate shot at beating the GSW Media Darlings.

We would need the Rockets to basically go on a 1-2 week lucky ass streak of shooting. Basically hitting 12 or more threes a night. That will just keep us in the game at all times. I feel we should just come at them with a diff game plan, double, defend. Let others have the ball.

But then again.............. we have to deal with the other Curry tomorrow. Rockets have proved time and time again they come playing flat for teams with no talent.

I do like the fact that we are actually changing up our defensive strategies guarding the PnR. We sometimes trap, go under/over, and switch instead of just switching all the time. We must double/trap Curry early and see who's hot besides Klay and then play accordingly. I don't want Curry getting hot early and then everyone on the team playing off of him. I would love to see a D12 and Ariza trap on Curry, difficult to pass out of that double team and allows D12 to get back into the paint.

If we don't beat the Dubs then it's surely due to a conspiracy trying to keep us down.
