I liked season 1 but this premiere was the definition of slow......hope it picks up going forward. Like everybody else, I'd be fine if all the kids just died off......
After this opener, I'm concerned they are going to slow-walk this like TWD. For me, that will be a death sentence.
the first 5 minutes were nice, then it became some hallmark channel drama. teenage kids, they ruin everything.
Yep, that's what really turned me off of WD after the 1st season.......hopefully they try something different with FTWD but I'm not too sure they won't
My comments are the same as everyone's. Though I like the druggie kid. The kids are annoying enough... And to it having kids (though not that old yet) I don't find these representations of kids and how they'd act realistic in any way... The slowness is crazy. I'm only watching me slow show at a time and that's Better Call Saul. They can certainly save this. The best way would be by killing off two main characters in the next episode.
a zombie got prop head that was about the highlight of the show. Swiming into an over turned boat with zombies floating all around. Stupid. Talking to others on the radio and giving away position. stupid. If I owned that boat I'd be tossing people over board for stupidity.
Didn't watch the premier. Might not until you guys say S02 has turned a corner. Just want to remark about the above comment. Remember, in their world universe, there are no fictional stories of zombies or zombie movies to help guide your decisions. They are living it, and trying to figure it out. They don't know much of anything that they are capable of doing....like "living" under water. So, I wouldn't call it "stupid," but rather "lesson learned." That should be what makes this show much different than TWD, is this is the start of how they figure things out and what is going on and learning lessons.
IDK man... Once they learned that the zombies are dead people that come back and that the only way to stop them is a bullet/blow to the head, it doesn't take much logic deduce that you shouldn't do things like that. Basic survival instinct should tell them to stay away from places where dead people are or could be. ie a capsized boat. I have to chalk the guy from FTWD's actions squarely in the stupid column.
Like I say, didn't watch the episode. Maybe will. But in TWD, Rick's group didn't figure out dead people will come back as zombies until Shane died, right? It was a huge lesson they learned. Before that, they thought you had to get bit and infected. They didn't know the infection/virus is already in everyone. Didn't the CDC guy's wife agree to have a zombie bite her for science (so, even they didn't know). Are you sure FTWD people know that if you drown you will turn? To them, it might have looked like dead zombies floating in water....shot in the head or whatever...or maybe they can die under water too...who knows. Are you sure you are not reading into FTWD lessons that Rick's group learned much later? btw: Spoilers are fine.
what we want is a sense of urgency and desparate ingenuity and struggle to survive; not a bunch of moping around
They spent a third of the time on the most unlikable character, Chris. I like TWD & I thought season 1 was not bad, but this is probably the worst episode of the series. Disappointed. If the Chris character is not dead by seasons' end, I may give up on this show. Prison Break was the only show I gave up previously.
I feel like this series should be called "Zombies on a..." Zombies on a plane! Zombies on a boat! etc etc And put down this Strand dude as the most laughable character in TV. It's the Dos Equis guy, but black, and with Zombies!
Notice there is never a Zombies in the mountains episode... because its pretty much impossible for a zombie to climb the side of a mountain. Which its just crazy stupid that Rick and TWD crew would live travel from Atlanta to DC, and stop there when the Blue Ridge mountains in WV are like a 4 hour drive from there.
I haven't watched the premiere and won't be watching this season until Summer. Taking a break from the walking dead world. But this is some bull****. Tell a good story and people will keep watching. You don't need to resort to stupid cliffhangers all the time. If Fear starts doing this constantly I'm done. I'm not nearly as invested in this as WD. And no, the cliffhanger with Negan was not "awesome." http://http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/11/entertainment/fear-the-walking-dead-season-2-thr/index.html
That'll be at the season finale, but right before the hit it'll cut to credits. And then next season it'll be like 6 episodes of the past just to really amp up (troll) the cliffhanger, and right before showing you... it turns out it was all a dream sequence. I'm practicing to be a writer for them. Lol
Erickson noted that season two will focus on Alicia, Nick and Chris all coming of age in different ways... "They're all going to come of age over the course of this season in very different ways and they'll all relate to the apocalypse in different ways," Erickson said. "They'll all change and go on their specific tracks." Are they trying to make a WD for the teens, because seriously what adults care about watching the "coming of age" of a bunch of teenagers"?
