Only Luther, Sherlock, that girl that has clones show, and just yesterday black mirror because of this thread. Wow that was fantastic
Just from the previous page: Luther (watch this one first!) Happy Valley River Broadchurch (if you like David Tennant) Also try: Sherlock Peaky Blinders (which few on CF seem to like. I think it's fantastic) Line of Duty The Fall (Gillian Anderson. Very gritty and very good!) Peaky Blinders and Sherlock are very different from the others (and each other). Luther S1/S2 are special. You will see.
Watched Black Mirror over the weekend, that show is fantastic. If anyone Twilight Zone style sci-fi it's a must watch.....
I had a hard time getting through the first episode. Am I correct that the rest of the shows are as challenging?
All episodes are different stories. I'd say the first episode was somewhat different from the rest of the show. You should try having another go at it.
Can't wait for Wentworth, the grittier and darker female prison show. I'm viewing Happy valley tonight to see what the big deal is. =)
To everyone that hasn't seen the show yet: Skip the first episode of Black Mirror, watch the others and go back to episode one last. None of them are related and nothing builds between them. Episode one is the definition of an outlier. They should have thrown that one in the can.
Will there be a fourth season to Black Mirror? I'm currently on the second ep of season two. Hope it gets better and better.
Like others have said, the first episode is an odd episode to say the least. I get what they are going for but they decide to go for the idea in the most outlandish manner possible. The rest of the episodes are really solid bits of science fiction, reminded me of classic Twilight Zone episodes.
Man you were NOT kidding about this show being "gritty". The graphic juxtapositions of sex/murder and a dude's relationship with his little daughter are downright haunting, mostly because those kinds of people EXIST. Great show though. Love Gillian's b****iness.
