Great game for the Astros offense yesterday, I really like what Rasmus gives to this team. White is really something, and helped yesterday on defense at 1b. About Fister, watching the game on tv, the radar gun said his fastball was between 84-87, if that is correct, then i am worried. He needs to throw at 89-90. Lets see what happen. Yesterday we hit hard a good starter for the Brewers, go Astrossssss

I'm not one to b**** about the lineup, as placement in the lineup is probably the most overrated thing discussed...and also, players on the roster need to play or your bench gets stale.... Having said that, the ONLY thing I don't like about today's lineup is Tucker in LF. With Dallas on the mound, i'd prefer to put our best defense on the field. If we don't make errors, we likely don't need many runs to win anyway. If you want to sit Gomez today that's fine, but with Dallas throwing I would have rather seen Jake out there if Gomez was gonna sit
Eh, with so many ground balls OF defense is less of an issue. I like seeing Tucker's bat in the lineup against as many RHPs as possible.
With anyone but Dallas pitching, I would agree with you Tucker isn't just bad in the OF, he is terrible in the OF. Just don't want to see one major f-up out there cost us.
I agree with you as i really like to play good defense, and Tucker is not a good in LF, but K is more of a ground ball guy. I don't mind playing Tucker today, he is really hitting the ball well and K will not allowed many hits today. Now, I don't know about sitting Valbuena. I prefer to see Marwin vs lefties. About lineups, with all due respect i disagree. Lets look at friday's lineup, we never had a chance. If the game is close, are they going to pitch to White hitting 6th and Castro 7th? Pitching to White was a mistake. Then, Marisnick, with pitcher hitting behind him. another spot where they can pitch around him. Thats why i always want Castro hitting 8th in NL and 9th in AL games, he is our worse hitter. Valbuena, i like him a lot, as you all know, but, i DON'T like him hitting 4th. Why would you pitch to Correa with Valbuena hitting 4th? Now, Rasmus hits the ball well, and i like him in clutch situations. I like Valbuena's defense and power, but he is a good number 7 hitter in the lineup, never a clean up guy. But, i don't mind today's lineup, but i do agree with you that I am a bit worried about Tuckers defense today, plus, if you take him out for defensive purpose, you lose a good bat at the end of the game.
Can we all safely say that we want Altuve and Springer flip flopped in order? I'm tired of seeing Springer look like Gomez at bat. His Altuve impression a long with his defense and speed makes him an Allstar caliber player.
I do like Springer hitting 1st, the only problem is Altuve does not take pitches so Springer would not be stealing as much hitting in front of Altuve. Altuve when he is hot, he is the best leadoff hitter in baseball, but when he struggle he looks the worse, as he does not take pitches nor many walks. But, we all know that at the end of the year, the numbers are going to be there for Altuve. Now, who is better Springer or Altuve? I take Springer and he would be my leadoff hitter.
I'll be interested to see how the rotation does the 2nd time around. Hopefully the 2-5 got all of the kinks out of the system the first time around.
They're saying Gattis could be ready for the KC series. I'm not sure how much I want him back right now. Preston Tucker is getting some extremely good swings against RHP so far. I really think they need to let him get some reps at C in the minors so he can act as the teams backup catcher. I don't see a large enough role for him on the team right now as a part time DH.
Yea, only thing I worry about is coming off of hernia surgery, is that a legit option right now? If he had the spring to work at catcher some and get ready, I would think it was a lot better possibility. I think they didn't want him catching last year because he had always had a tough time staying healthy, and he was coming to a team where he would be by far the best DH option. Fast forward a year, and Tucker/White loom as DH options, they probably wouldn't worry as much about the possible injury situation. Just think it would be tough without a spring to work back there
