I would say it's not the pissed most people will infer. But I won't mention what I think I've seen / guessed from reading into the production and such.

In response to the dobro "spoilers":

This is such a dumb twist/waste of time. Everyone knows that Jon Snow is only technically dead and will be revived post haste. Also don't think the White Walkers could surprise me. I expect a more altruistic motivation to be revealed eventually. This series prides itself in having morally ambiguous characters. They were introduced as too purely evil.

Just got done re-watching S04 and S05 in reverse order. Man, S04 had some awesome episodes. Forgot about that Anchor on the Wall which scrapes off climbers.

Quick Question: Why did Stannis go North of the Wall to attack the 100k wildling army? I don't recall him even knowing they were amassing an army, much less caring. One moment he's negotiating getting ships, next thing we know he's launching a two flank cavalry attack. As an aside, that's a lot of horses to transport North of the Wall.

At the end of season 3 Stannis' army received word from the nights watch about the white walkers, they slowly headed towards the wall and luckily ran into the wildling battle.

cool, thx. You mean they didn't know about the wildling army, and their intention was to hunt down the white walkers.

Well thankfully I haven't really truly gotten spoilers from our friend. As I said before its cool that they really do care about how we experience the show.

I will say though that they know that everyone thinks they know how the Jon Snow thing is going to go (
    the Beric Dondarian way
). If you think it is a dumb twist, that might be for a good reason. What she has consistently told me and my wife is that we shouldn't expect what we think is going to happen. What happens will piss people off in a way.... whatever that means. I have my theories but I could be totally wrong.

Take that as you will. I think it certainly makes us go into the show a little more open minded.

But the good news is that we don't have to wait 6 episodes like you would with the walking dead. Confirmation that we get resolution in episode 2.

Makes sense, because the leader of the Watch did not believe Jon Snow in the last two Eps of S04 that they were amassing a 150k army with giants. Hence why I was wondering if Stannis knew that somehow independently. I shouldn't have re-watch 5 and 4 in reverse, because I now forget if Stannis left due to Jon telling him about the Walkers and you don't want to fight them. But we know he did get Stannis to loan him the ships to try to save the Wildling camp.

btw: I recommend re-watching the Season 4 finale for anyone who forgot Bran's story. Since Bran wasn't part of Season 5, it's worth watching for recalling where his story left off.

Apparently there is a castle called "Eastwatch by the Sea". I believe that's where they landed from Dragonstone and Eastwatch is manned by Knights Watch. I'm sure they sent word ahead so they would be accepted passage, and when they arrived, were told of the army attacking the wall.

Kind of a theory of how it went, but had to be something like that.

What Stannis was originally trying to do was to save Westeros from the Wildlings attacking the North anyways. He got word that the Lord Commander had been killed at the end of season 3, and Davos' plan was to finance a sellsword army through Bravos, save the 7 kingdoms from the Wildlings & whatever came up north, get the North (Stark loyalists) to rally by his side, and eventually make his way south to take the throne. Securing the wall was step 1, taking back Winterfell was step 2.

Bran will have a critical part this season
now that The Three Eyed Raven is teaching him how to use the sight....to see into the past and the future. You can probably surmise a bit of that from the trailer; what the trailer also shows but might not be so obvious is the scene of a younger Ned Stark, Howland Reed and cohorts in their bid to rescue Lyanna Stark from Rhaegar Targaryen at the Tower of Joy; this must obviously be Bran looking into the past. In the trailer you see a younger Ned and his two allies marching on the Tower; you also see the fight against Rhaegar's soldiers, including Arthur Dayne swinging two swords; a knight so ferocious Ned says in later years "Dayne would have killed me if not for Howland Reed".

As far as something in the first two episodes "pissing us off"? That would have to be a guess on my part. I hope it isn't the death of someone I'm thinking.

I've been re-watching season 5 while paying close attention to the dialogue. I'll pause the show whenever I hear a name, city, etc that I don't recognize and Google it. It's scary how much of a geek this show has made me.

Is this what Dungeons and Warlocks feels like?
