We made a mistake. How do u fire a guy 10 or so games into a season coming off a WCF berth?? He was the man who had the team playing hard.
It's time to admit that this thread was already made last night. The premise of this thread is false. Just because one coach is worse than another doesn't make the better coach objectively good. McHale is average and that's fine but I hope our next coach is great. IBTL.
It is not time to admit that. McHale is a bad coach who also happens to be better than Bickerstaff. That is the situation.
Correlation does not equal causation. Especially since we posted the worst 3 game start in NBA history under Mchale.
JBB is truly bad, that in comparison yes. I mean I don't think even McHale would make the mistake of keeping Dwight Howard in the game when the team is down by 3 with seconds left on the clock...
Took the words out my mouth! Bickerstaff is the chip off the old block! Lol, he's been working under McHale since the T-Wolves days so who else will he learn his philosophies from??? By the way, his father was a terrible coach too, smh...2 time loser
Do people not realize Mchale got fired because the team wasn't listening to him? Its' crazy how so many people miss that, even media. He wasn't fired just because the team was in i a funk and started badly. He couldn't motivate the team or get their attention anymore.
He was a good coach in close games and his rotations were usually on point. We'd probably be at least the 6th seed now if he was still coaching. He is still a mediocre overall coach, but the drop off between him and Bickerstaff is drastic because Bickerstaff is that awful.
Absolutely not. He did NOT take the team to the WCFs. He was just along for the ride and happenstance allowed us to get there. Josh Smith breaking out and roleplayers suddenly getting better and Clippers eating ****.
Tbh honest im glad things hapoened the way they did, dont think the rockets eould have gotten Beasly of they had a good start to the season
Beasley is the lowest of low-hanging fruit. I would have much preferred a deep playoff run with a chance to win a ring.
Firing McHale was the right move. We took a step forward, but then took 2 huge leaps backward with the nonsensical retention of JBB believing that he could elevate this team.
No, just because JBB is the worst head coach in the history of the NBA doesn't mean that McHale was a good head coach. McHale being better than JBB means almost nothing. Clutch the Bear would likely have been a better head coach than JBB.
Harden never respected McHale and McHale gave him the freedom not to respect him. That's why you have a team with no leaders, no discipline, and no give a damn. Harden thinks he's just some guy who tries real hard offensively and can do whatever he wants because he's got a big contract and a shoe deal. Of course a star player has to be a lot more than that to win and McHale never instilled that.
Really McHale took us to the west conf finals... this guy has done nothing but make stupid moves.. unreal
