"We interrupt this regularly scheduled programming to bring you a breaking news story. O.J. Simpson has escaped from the Lovelock Correctional Center and is leading Nevada police on a slow-speed chase down Interstate 80. Simpson is apparently driving a white Rascal scooter."

Nic Batum draft pick wasn't made by the Rockets. It was for the Kings. That got us Ron Artest.

    And the answer is...

Marquese Chriss, PF, Univ. of Washington

At least, according to this mock draft.

"Washington’s Marquese Chriss is the kind of unpolished, high-upside big man who will draw the attention of teams in the top 10 and could go earlier than this should a team decide to take a risk on him. At 6-9 with a 7-0 wingspan and 8-9 standing reach, Chriss has the size to play power forward at the next level. What intrigues analysts the most, though, is his explosive athleticism and quickness."
    <BR>
    Other possibilities...

This mock draft says we pick Sabonis.

This one says we get Luwawu.

And this one, in haiku form, says we get Labissiere.

Lastly, NBADraft.net doesn't trust Morey to draft someone good and took our first round pick away from us altogether.

I think Capela is a good pick. He's gotta work on his foul shooting obviously, but there's enough there that he could at least be a serviceable backup center which is fine for the 25th selection in the draft.

We didn't see enough of Montrezl to make any real assessment. He's physically gifted, but so are a lot of guys in this league. Ultimately though, he was an early 2nd rounder. So even if he does wind up not having much success in the NBA, it wasn't a costly whiff. The Dekker pick was far more inexcusable.

Where will Maker go? Because if he falls to us there's no doubt you take him.

A very athletic wing player with so so defense who could be good if he would somehow learn to , see the court , dribble or shoot well.

No, Batum got us Greene and Dorsey. And Greene got us Artest.

Not the best example of a Morey failure

Sabonis in the 1st. GPII in the 2nd.

We need high motor players who play hard around Harden.

Trade the pick plus other assets for Rubio if we stay at 12-14. If we get lucky and get top 3, then a lot more opens up.

Don't sleep on Wade Baldwin. He's got lots of game. Good 2-way point with athleticism, quicks, handle, and intangibles. Sabonis can play.

Skal is a bust. Don't pick him. Most of the rest are projects. Luwawa is over-rated. Just a role player in the NBA.

Look for GPII or Caris Levert in the second. If Levert gets healthy, he could become the steal of this draft in the second. He's got all the tools. But has health issues with his leg. He may never be able to play without getting hurt. But if he can get healthy and stay healthy he'll be a second round steal, steal, steal.
