I'd expect the bigger villains to be involved with the Death Star construction, at least. As for the other guy, my mistake. He looks like Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron with similar hair and a 5 o'clock shadow. Is he just another pilot?
Good Point, I looked at the trailer again, and now I am starting to believe that maybe Palpatine might have a secret undercover apprentice who reports only to him; one that even Vader is not aware of.

Eh...that looks like just a hodgepodge of footage from all the other movies. I don't even think there's any footage from this movie at all. Yeah, it would be a HUGE letdown if Vader isn't in this movie. I mean, I don't expect him to be in every scene...but if he just shows up at the very end like he did in III or like Luke did in VII, I'm going to be severely pissed. He is arguably the most iconic movie villain in cinematic history. We want to see him!
Amazing that Boba Fett was the only person smart enough to trace the trash being dumped out of the Destroyer, and then being smart enough to follow it without being caught. That is one helluva pilot. One great bounty hunter. So I would love to see him work in this new movie. The movie seems to be about Bounty hunters to a degree, so he fits, but what role would he play. I would be curious if Vader, in his slicker days, is as violent as he was when he killed all the Jedi kids, or if he is a high IQ villian, seeking only to muck with those Jedi he feels will be a thorn in his ideal plans. Not even sure which I would prefer. As both would be fun.
Boba Fett is likely going to get his own origin story movie, at least that's been the rumor. So they may save him for that, I'm not sure what role he'd play in this one.
Hmmm....thought all night about this...this would tie Rogue One to TFA What if.... Snoke (From TFA) IS actually Darth Plagius...and that tank is a Bacta or a containment tank that Plagius is recovering/being contained in after Sidious supposedly killed him. Keep in mind that legend said Plagius found a way to come back, and Sidious, knowing that, decided to kill him and keep him contained rather that kill him and leave him to come back unknown to when and where he would come back. The rule of two still applies because Plagius is out of the picture, and perhaps the Emperor enters the chamber where Plagius/Snoke is to monologue at him. I think that would actually work...Amirite?
The rule of two is absolutely stupid and I doubt is still considered canonical. It's also been violated so much in canon that it isn't worth thinking about it.
