Hahahah what an embarrassment, you just knew Barrea was going to go off and Terry & Brewer getting a lot of minutes shows J.B. learning from the best in McHale, but worse: HE WAS SCARED!! He didn't dare to trust anybody else but his favourite veterans who continue to drag this team down. What was up with the minutes distribution, starting KJ, no D-Mo, no Beasley down the stretch? This loss was pure coaching, cannot really blame Terry & Brewer since we all know they have playing bad like this lately.

look at it this way, if beasley doesn't show up, we would certainly have lost 4 more games this season. this team has been atrocious.

This loss is on JB. Why was Brewer on the floor in the last 3 minutes to throw some more bricks?

Need that 1st round pick to package with Brewer to ship his ass out of here. Even if we miss the playoffs.

But then ... would packaging a 1st round pick together with Brewer be enough to entice a team to take on a 38/28 shooter with no apparent other strengths, with 2 years and $8m/yr left on his contract?

No idea why DMo is in the doghouse.

Yes he hasn't performed this season, missing the bulk of the 1st half with back injury, but there's no way he's as bad as Brewer. So bad that we need to shift Ariza to the 4 so we can play more of KJ, Brewer and Terry.

Reminds me of McHale playing Delfino on Pau Gasol. At least Delfino tries, and can hit that 3pt shot. Playing Ariza at the 4, benching DMO, so that two worse 3pt shooters in Brewer and KJ can play more, and a not-been-hitting-his-shots since forever Terry can shoot more blanks.

    Unbelievable.

And don't say Ariza was used to defend Dirk into a bad night. Dirk hasn't shot well the last 5 games before this.

They should have just kept Marcus Thornton. He may be a streaky shooter, but he was also one of the few guys on the team other than Harden/Beasley that could create his own shot. He'd be a better option than Terry right now, that's for sure.

Also, credit to the Mavs and Carlisle, they played us well and this is why you foul when down 3.

    Baffling isn't it?

We gave him up for nothing, just because he was upset we traded him. We have zero leadership at the org level.

    Sad.

Listening to jb talk post game about brewer and dmo playing time, it is clear that he is an absolute dumb ass. Anyone who watch the game (and every other game this year) knows that brewer was sucking ass. I can't believe he didn't own up and say yeah that was a bad decision and that's on me. He actually defended what he did. So I expect he'll do it again.

As far as dmo goes, has he not been playing great? Yes. But not so bad to play zero minutes against the worst power forward defender in the nba? Why not force dirk to play some post D. It's at least worth a try. Instead he starts kj, who I'm a fan of, even for me that seemed extreme. It's like he's bipolar and over reacts to everything with extreme line up changes.

I'm also disappointed the know in the press is asking tougher questions about these poor coaching moves. He needs to be forced to answer more publicly about his terrible decisions.

The fact that JBB didn't play Josh Smith and D-Mo, proven Mavs killers awes me. Plus the fact that KJ didn't play more minutes is shocking.

Yep. How does JB not play Smoove. The guy who destroyed the Mavs last playoffs and in a game this year. Total idiot.

I have watched the last few Rocket games ad while Dwight Howard has not played perfectly, he has worked hard to get post position. While not always the biggest DH fan I am beginning to believe that the guards were advised to not give Howard the ball, with the frame of mind of lowering his free agency value league wide. Houston will blame it on chemistry and injuries, but offensively land defensively last year Houston was a smarter team. Coaching plays into that, but we started of this year horribly and McHale deserved to be fired for allowing that start.

I do not understand Brewer getting minutes and big shots down the stretch of a must win game. I just don't get it. I loved Brewer last year..and he seems like a great guy, generally. But holy crap.

god,,, as bad as this season as been, the last 3-4 mins. of the game felt extremely awful. why jbb sub'd beasley w/ brewer is truly a myth. the whole damn team couldnt score outside of harden, so all the mavs had to do was doubling harden up and forcing someone else to score. and it worked out well for them.

and it was one of the worse games for harden offensively. getting stripped by dirk,,, it would never happen if it were last yr....

Good to see you being fairly realistic for once. You've been in delusionville all season long.

One more thought...I'm sure someone else already said this in this thread....but Dwight's failure to be able to score out of the post with only Dirk guarding him was Exhibit "A" why people need to stop talking about getting him touches in the post. He can't post up. He's not good at it.

Give him an alley oop....let him score off rebounds...but throwing the ball down to him and expecting him to generate offense from that spot is silly at this point. He can't do that.
