No, that's just flat wrong on so many fronts.

Your understanding of the current cluster f in Brazil is very low, I suggest reading Simon Romeros excellent piece in the Times recently if you want a good overview.

If you did, you'd discover Cunha is a member of the opposition who hopes to install himself/his cronies if Dilma is brought down. To the extent there are new revelations about him (though he's been implicated for a long time) instead of "scalp"ing Dilma as you put it, it probably helps her.

Frankly the Andrew Goudelock analogy is even less apt now if thats your theory of causation (which also requires a time machine....)

Its like blaming the current Rockets season on Raphaiel Putney.

um, the articles I cited were based on the fact that Cunha is a member of the opposition that started impeachment proceedings because he felt threatened about his own corruption facilitated by Mossack Fonseca being revealed, so yes, I am/was/will be aware that he is a member of the opposition. When I said causal, I meant that Dilma's impeachment was only moved forward because Cunha felt threatened. not that I give a s**t about the rest of the Brazilian situation.

Notice I said 2 scalps to Panama--not the Papers themselves. +100 to Mossack Fonseca, again, really.

But hey, fine, 1 scalp to the Papers specifically, and let's watch and see when it comes to the president of FIFA, France, David Cameron, and those 200 American citizens. *yawn*

    Breaking:

Close allies of the Front National, and members of Marine le Pen's inner circle have been caught moving hundreds of thousands of Euros in offshore accounts. While previously under investigation, they were now caught breaking anti-money laundering laws red-handed in incriminating emails.

The embattled Socialist administration and President Hollande have already promised trials.

They now have everything they need to hang the insurgent, and some would say xenophobic, right-wing populist movement in its own delicate noose.

    «Québec emmerde le Front National»

    And now Panama does too!

I find the intern's excessive excitement about this amusing.

first rocketslegend and now commodore. As I start reading the thread today, it will be interesting to see if all the usual suspects step forward to defend Mossack

lol Honey Boo Boo, since you get the Earned Income Tax Credit you don't need any tax evasion schemes as they won't help you avoid sales taxes much.

if your credit card has not been maxxed out why not put on another porno site, relax and fantasize about finally losing your virginity,

    the vagaries of youth.

plus, I pay way too many damn taxes (hi Quebec and California) and way too many accountants to file it the LEGIT WAY. it rocks to see people get rumbled.

You're not a big fan of the FN if memory serves, so you should be happy too ;)

    How old are you? 18?

Yeah, those crazy intern salaries nowadays...

Having a bank account in a foreign country by itself may or may not be a criminal offense. Without further evidence, it means little. May be perfectly legal. But people from the left have always found it suspicious when others had it money, so they have always tried to take some of it for themselves.

    Old enough.

    yeah, crrraaaazy intern salaries. ex:

    https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-salary-for-Facebooks-summer-internship-in-2015

That's what, 104k + free housing? or 120k? + signing bonus and vested stock options when you join? i dunno tbh. valuing free housing in the Bay Area probably adds about 4k a month.

funny thing about interns though, is that they evolve to like real jobs eventually, or even creating their own companies

    ---

But hey, while you're defending offshore accounts, can you defend the FN communications head laundering money? Because offshore accounts aren't at stake here--hidden conflicts of interest, and breaking the law through them are. thanks.

To post on this BBS? Apparently.

    Tell us more.

I made a factual statement. I'm not defending anything.

No, I have stashed all of my remaining e-penis needs in my offshore account. If you'd like to talk career advice, I suggest you hit me up on clarity.fm ;)

^Factually false and completely irrelevant to the topic. More like, in this case, "people from the left" are fans of following the law.

    Are you?

If you don't find this story fascinating, why are you in the thread? To defend tax evasion and money laundering?

Carry on Northside, your ongoing commentary is appreciated as usual.

Normally, I'd have to charge you, but I would provide the advice to a fellow Rockets fan for free.

The democratic socialist Upton Sinclair's quote applies. "It is hard to make a man understand something when his making a living depends on his not understanding."

I think that somehow explains Sam's view of this.

I agree with ATW that off shore accounts are not necessarily illegal but the reason why someone would move their money to a bank in a less stable country is likely because it allows them more freedom. This means that it is simply easier to manipulate the system and often times this means breaking laws.

I like seeing these guys get busted for hiding money. When we are talking about people that can't possibly spend all the money they have earned but would rather hide it than help people or people who have stolen money from the hard working people in the country they have been given the privilege of governing it is especially sweet.

A reminder about what this thread is really about:

This is after a very partial leak from only the fourth largest offshoring firm in the world. You wonder what you'll find if you dig even deeper.
