Rockets turned that corner Feel sorry for the next team thats gonna face us Durant is gonna beg to come here Sam Decker = next Lebron
There's legitimate reasons to doubt that this team will go very far in the playoffs. They have had big wins before to be followed by disappointing losses. Yesterday was encouraging. But it's hard to gel in just a few games. This should have happened months ago.
I think 90's girl group 3LW said it best. Playas, they gonna play And haters, they gonna hate Ballers, they gonna ball Shot callers, they gonna call leggo.
i was shocked to see the young players and new get some minutes. Thats was the main reason we got the win. I have been calling for JB to do that when he first took over but he stuck with the same ole veterans and got us into this situation. Hopefully he keeps this up cause we need these young players to play more just for the energy they bring alone.
Forget catching Portland, it is highly unlikely. I think they will move to the 5th spot and Memphis will slide down. That is where I hope we will move up. Memphis plays Golden State twice, the Clippers, Chicago, Orlando and Dallas. They are an injured team on a 6 game losing streak. The odds are good IF we play to our potential. Go Rockets!
Yes, this could be what we have all been waiting for to spark up this team, and make us a force to be reckoned with.
This team is too bipolar to make a dent in the playoffs. Best to just let Spurs and Warriors beat eachother up and get to the offseason.
I'm not sold. I hope to goodness that's the case, but just for example.. Beasley IS our 2nd leading scorer, and JB sat him almost the entire game due to 'matchup issues'. You don't sit your 2nd best weapon on the offensive end because of matchup issues. If that's the case, as the other coach, I'm not playing anyone at the 4 spot he can 'match-up' with, and you've essentially just removed their second best playmaker from the floor. KJ was playing minutes at the 4, makes NO sense. He ended up doing well, and he deserves time, but I just don't understand the coaching decisions. Not to mention how we haven't thrown a lob to Dwight in what feels like forever, which was a HUGE weapon for us in the playoffs last year. Say what you want about Dwight, but JB just doesn't involve him in the offense what-so-ever. Giving him 3 post touches a game isn't going to do it, running pick and rolls (doesn't even have to be D12 screening) and forcing the help gives him space for a lob (Smoove to Howard is a huge example). We don't have plays in our offense that do that. Our rotation will look completely different again in our next game. You never know who's going to play next, because JB has no clue as the game starts... I think he can be a good coach, but this has been tough to watch..
i'm a doubter and while i will be rooting for the Rockets in the playoffs, i still do not think we are contenders and would like to see us rebuild. If the rockets win every game from here on out through to the championship game; maybe then i'd change my mind.
I can't agree more. I wondered the same thing last night with Beverly. I also agree about Dwight. Smoove finally getting some minutes is hope. He was really good at getting those lobster to Howard. It seems like ages since Howard has been involved, and that is key. We just have to hope the rotations get better.
This thread just proved why illegal drugs is a serious issue in this country and it must be addressed.
In humans, the will to believe a certain position is usually stronger than the influence of the contrary evidence. Or in Clutchfans terms - WOOOO - THE ROCKETS ARE FINALLY TURNING THE CORNER.
If they can reach the 6th seed then sure... we have a shot to get out of the first round. If not... then we were clearly better off with our draft pick. GS and/or SAS will tear us to shreds. The goal of the season is not to just be in the playoffs. You think this team can contend? If not then we we need more talent and that should be the focus.
