Apparently, the guy was rescued by the (German) bus drivers of the buses. There were some Syrian refugees in the buses, but the actual rescue was done by the bus drivers (who have to take mandatory first aid training courses, so that would make sense). The story was first published by the (very leftist) newspaper "Frankfurter Rundschau". It did fit their ideological leanings, and it would have been a nice story, if true. But a blogger, Ramin Peymani (the guy whose article Rockets Legend posted) did his own research and discovered that the Frankfurter Rundschau article was largely made up.

Later, the story was changed to "one bus driver and one refugee". The blogger insists that that is still not actually true.

In any case, the guy they rescued is a xenophobic scumbag.

Who knows if some refugees assisted the bus drivers. Would be nice if true.

 

Interesting. People shouldn't make up crap like that. It only hurts whatever point they were hoping to make. So while it's possible that refugees did help rescue him, we don't really know.

Oh well.

 

I love feel good stories, too bad this one wasn't true. I'd imagine stuff like this does happen though, just doesn't get coverage.

 

This story had propaganda written all over it. There are way too many hoax stories going around these days for me to believe them without any facts coming out.

Unfortunately Rocketslegend has valid counters here. It does seem like the media is trying really hard to find feel good stories and persecution stories of Muslims.
