I didn't follow NXT until last year but AFAIK these characters/gimmicks you've mentioned were successful/over in NXT.
I still like Bo Dallas and Adam Rose's gimmick in fact all of the Social Outcasts, if they never are anything beyond jobbers they are still entertaining and have a role on the show. Neville doesn't really have a gimmick I don't know how Ascension got so over in NXT, they are terrible in the ring. They can do a lot more with Breeze, he's got everything a wrestler needs to be successful and he's put 100% into his character, no matter how dumb it is. That still usually is enough when given actual TV time
funny u mentioned that, Russo was on Stone Cold's podcast recently and they were complaining about the same thing. He didn't like how the recent NXT guys were brought up since most of the WWE audience have no idea about NXT even with the Network now. this, watched it after Raw, feel really bad for the guy, wrestling was his life and having to retire due to health concerns kills him, great watch I'd also recommend watching the Sting's Beyond the Ring/DVD airing "Into the Light", fantastic storytelling from the beginning of his career up to his WM31 debut
What my meaning was is that the gimmicks they used in NXT fell flat on the main roster. They need to see that the stuff that gets over in NXT doesn't automatically translate to main roster - indeed it's basically a 100% fail rate (save for Zayn who would be over anywhere, anytime)
If the rumours of a brand split are true, I don't see money in it. It didn't work last time. All it led to was watered down PPV's. Plus, they already have so many shows, and a very injury diluted roster. It also halves the amount of feud possibilities and story lines. It's not the right time, and would reek of desperation.
Instead of the WWE splitting the roster to two brands, they should split the World Title to two championships. Bring back the Big Gold Belt. I like when they have two major champions. I think they should have one world champion that the fans want and the other champion that Vince and the creative writers want.
Only good thing that would come of it is it would limit possible injuries with guys working less and might bring more viewers to SD with a few big names. Don't want two titles and limiting guess though
Yuck on the two titles... I think they should split the shows and still have one title. I love the Gold Belt and all but having two "world" titles is stupid and shouldn't ever be done again.
I dont think you can say it didn't work... I mean when Paul Heyman was running smack down it was beating raw plenty of weeks and was also a place where guys like Cena, Lesnar and Batista got to be molded into main event guys. Plus you got to see the best work out of guys like eddie beniot. The problem was Vince gave the creative over to Steph and she screwed the pooch just like she is doing with the product now. But Vince would never fire his baby girl.
Apparently they released more tickets to NXT takeover last night on ticketmaster that have since sold out, saw some guy tweet that he bought 4 and listed 2 on stubhub
you gotta be a wwe fanboy to think mania will outperform takeover this weekend. Just look at the lineup from start to finish for takeover, **** is crazy. Think about the possibility of this though. If Nakamura and Samoa Joe win their respective matches, can you imagine the story-line between those two? Do you think they're going to wait until they hit the main roster or have their feud going on in NXT? This week is going to be insane.

What's everyones plan for the weekend? Getting to Dallas on Friday, still trying to get NXT tickets, might go to the Axxess session on Saturday night now that they announced freaking Nakamura is going to be there. Sunday morning looks good too with Edge,The New Day, and Samoa Joe. Probably then do the ManiaCrawl for a little bit and then head out to AT&T Stadium.
Evolve show early Friday Axxess for an hour or two before TakeOver. Then probably Axxess early Sat. Can't afford WM. And 3 days in Dallas would drive me insane
Anybody know anything about $5 wrestling? There are supposed to be some cheap indie shows around town but I'm not sure where at. I'm coming in Friday morning... Give a last minute effort to get some NXT tickets. Tha. Saturday ill probably hit some of the events around town like hang out with the cheap heat guys or something than Sunday its Mania and I'm debating sticking around for Raw.

Just got an alert that John Cena is expected to be cleared "Any Time Now". He is also expected to appear at Mania 32 but not sure in what capacity. Not a big Cena fan but they could use him back with all the injuries lately. And he would be better then Reigns as far as taking the heat from the fans and mic skills
