It's telling that none of the conservatives post in this thread. You think bigtexxx with all his MLK quotes would have something to say here.

 

Not saying that its not true about Nixon's motives, but I think it may be overly reductive of a very complex issue with many players to say, 'oh it was just a tool of persecution against blacks and hippies.'

 

I'm genuinely interested to know if anyone didn't know this to be fact already.

Just a cursory look around the world should at least bring you to the question: how come left wing politics is absent only from our country and dictatorships?

 

So called negro intellectuals like MLK and their liberal backing is part of the reason part of the so called "black community" is caught up in the drug war. The great Mr. Booker T. Washington warned black folks about liberals along time ago... So did Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X.

Good points. Heroine addiction has been a featured topic of discussion in the 2016 Democratic debates. Was crack addiction as compassionately debated in the 1980's?

 

It's sad what happened to this man. Both the CIA and FBI literally operate in factions during these times, meaning cliques or individuals that do stuff on their own. Think of Morgan Freeman and Donald Sutherland Characters developing the Mutaba virus as an US Army biological weapon in the movie 'Outbreak'. The consolidation and unification might still not be there but it's much better than before perhaps?
