Beasley has been great for us. Period. He is the spark off of the bench and probably the reason our guys still have some burn left. We have our glue guys that have been here and been through the trenches, and we have one guy that is immune to the drama and solely-focused on helping this team win. Solid pick-up from Morey at a crucial time. SuperCoolBeas has come into a rough situation, and he's done exactly what has been asked of him AND more. He has been the difference for us in many games, especially during scoring droughts from our bigs. You can knock all of his jumpers, but he's shot it consistently-well in limited minutes. And, even more important, his DEFENSE has been strong. It's overlooked because he's been known as an offense-oriented player for the entirety of his career. I'm a bit tired of the alleged "maturity" issues that people are throwing around. Defining "maturity" is subjective in nature, even more so as outsiders. However, I do know that Beas was not immature and/or a distraction to the team during his time in Phoenix. Far from it. I like what he brings to the Rockets, and I think Chris Webber absolutely nailed it when he said that the players trust him. We need more of that. You can see guys looking for Beasley, even after a miss or two, because they know he's going to find a way to get it done. They trust him more and more as his DEFENSE and REBOUNDING have improved. We don't win tonight without Beas on the defensive end, and of course, without those beautiful jumpers. 27 minutes with 17 points and 8 rebounds, OFF of the bench with unassisted shots. I mean, Beas is scoring from tough spots and mixing it up from long range and towards the basket. (That reverse layup with the show/fake was nice.) He's great off of the bench, but with certain matchups, I'd like him to start. The Rockets haven't started off well much this season, largely due to offensive woes from the frontcourt. Beas could alleviate that immediately, but I understand the logic and fairness factor of bringing him in as the ultimate 6th man. 7th seed or bust...err...something like that. Good win. Go Rox!
Beas is our 2nd best player, IMHO, he should be starting - and finishing games. Morey's drafts have been pretty poor lately, but this pickup of Beasley was super solid. Beasley could be the "X" factor this team needs. DD

What I liked the most tonight wasn't the 17 points, it was the intangibles once again by Beasley. Those (underrated) defensive stops are what makes a true well-rounded basketball player. I am really proud that he's dedicated his game to that as of late. He didn't have that at all during his early days! But this isn't to say he played a perfect game. There were again some lapses on D but that's okay. (some late close-outs on JJ/Love that allowed them to score, but hey it's not like the Rockets are a lockdown D team) Straight up shredded the Cavs through his mid-range J's. I love it when he mixes his mid-range and inside game. Kevin Love got outplayed by a guy fresh from a China and making the minimum. I agree that the key here has been trust. Spo and Wade only did that in numbered instances before. Even LeBron I know didn't fully trust Beas. But the Rockets' situation right now is perfect for Beas and it allows him to flourish game by game while at the same time, Beas makes the Rockets a better team period despite what the numbers/stats say. I didn't think JB would leave him there in the game late and will do the situational sub of Beas being replaced on D, but it paid off tonight as showcased by that sequence leading to Ariza's 3
No need for this post considering that Morey's team scouted and signed him. Just couldn't resist the dump on Mauri huh?
When you have more bullets in your gun you have a better chance of success. If this means that after 8 years Morey has learned the value of a midrange game then it is about ****ing time. DD
I'm on the B Train Should be a starter, but still a good spark off the bench when we need it. Just one question: Terrence who?
We had one scoring position and 4 defensive starters out there. It wasn't working. Now we have a scoring 4 which is a big improvement. We still need a reliable scoring 3 or 1 and probably a replacement for Dwight to be able to hang with the other great teams.
Good to know JB left Beasley in the game for a change. The Rox lost games down the stretch over the past couple weeks in my opinion partially due to JB taking Beasley out of games for no smart reason
lol amazing isn't it? We didn't get Aldridge mid range jumpers but we got Beasley's...who woulda thunk it!?
His midrange jumper is smoother and better than Lebron's in form factor and results at the rim. Don't know what the hell happened in Miami and practices but this would be the specimen to compete against Lebron.
This guy. You act like you're the one that suggested the signing and make it sound like you weren't the driver or sitting shotgun on the skeptic wagon. Then you have the audacity to make a comment like this. Never change DD never change.
