I liked season 2 better but the character development of Kingpin during season one was much more interesting than any bad guy in season 2. I don't consider the punisher a bad guy.
That is one of my few complaints, the big bad in season 2 didn't really have much gravity to it like in season 1.
Just finished episode 8. To anyone that hasn't started season 2, here is a fact: It is clearly better than season 1. There has been no lull in plot or intensity. The writers learned from their mistakes last year.
Just finished season two and I agree...it's way better that the first season. All the characters were pretty good...including Foggy. Ending made me wish season 3 would come soon.
This, plus I don't keep up with the tv possibilities of the marvel universe (i've never read a comic book in my life), but this season set up a potential Punisher series SO WELL. if Netflix pursues a Punisher series, it has the all-time great potential, Jon Bernthal absolutely killed it this season. A series based on his character would be phenomenal.
DD season 1 and 2 were both great. Excellent series overall; those of you complaining are nitpicking. Jessica Jones on the other hand was horrible.
You're crazy. Other than a couple plot holes here and there Jessica Jones was riveting. Purple Man has been one of the best Marvel villains on tv or movie to this point. If you don't like the character that's fine though.
Just binged watched the crap out of DD season 1 and 2 in about a week. Season 2 is wayyyy better than season 1. Only thing I didn't like was IMO there wasn't a defined main bad guy in season 2 like in season 1. I like Fisk(character & actor) a lot in the first season and glad he was still relevant in season 2. Oh and the punisher needs its own series. Dude kicks ass
I know this is suuuuper late response and you rpobably figured it out. Just to refresh your memory Spoiler that was the Blacksmith's arsenal. After killing the blacksmith in the tool shed, the Punisher grabbed a bag from a shelf and the whole shelf swung opened in one piece like a door. He then inspected the wall and moved the big tool box out of the way and found the arsenal. After discovering the arsenal, seeing the disc with Micro written on it, and him spray painting the skull on the body armor, it finally hit me that this is pretty much a Punisher origin story
Yes. Absolutely. I could nitpick if I really wanted to, but I don't want to. I just think people owe it to themselves to watch this series. Season 2 of Daredevil might be the best thing Marvel has ever done.
I agree with this 100%. I believe a show can really be as good as the villain allows it to be. Joker from the Dark Knight, Gus Fring from Breaking Bad. I thought DD season 1 did a great job developing Fisk, from childhood to his broken adult character where he has to juggle romantic interest with his version of 'saving the city'. Spoiler His character rise and fall was done immensely better than Nobu this season or The Blacksmith in season 2. Season 2 felt essentially like fan service towards Elektra and Punisher. Those two, add Stick as well, are not true antagonists. And as great of action scenes as both of those two received in the show, neither were as developed to the level of Fisk in season 1. I really wished they would have given Nobu more character development because I hate the whole 'big baddie exists with no other agenda than to kill protagonist and rule world'. Maybe Nobu struggling to keep his humanity since he's technically a zombie. How his family views him now as an undead, or SOMETHING to make me feel for a villain.
Finished season 2. I give JJ a slight edge over DD2 because of David Tennant (I'm a Whovian so there is some bias). Marvel's got something special going on Netflix. For me, these 13-episode series are way more satisfying than a full-length movie. Finally warming up to the idea of a Defenders series. Because of that, I can barely wait for Luke Cage and Iron Fist, which are supposed each bring their own completely different vibe from DD and JJ.
I think Madame Gao will be explored more in the IRON FIST Movie she is intriguing as well . . . what little times she has on the screen is usually good Rocket River
I'm assuming she's not as fragile/weak as she portrays. I liked her more after she was able to push DD away with one strike to the chest. Looked like he coughed up a little blood also but not sure. So any news/rumors if they're going to have Bullseye in any of the shows? I mean they have DD, Punisher, Kingpin, all they're missing now is Bullseye. Hopefully not that crap from Colin Farrell.
