I'd put Green over Melo in that team, even though Melos usually plays well with team USA.

I wish they can make 2 USA teams. Like one team from the Western Conference and the other from the Eastern Conference. That will make it a lot easier plus it will setup an All-American Gold Medal Game.

For all the people saying Harden shouldn't be on the team, do you miss the Kevin Martin as a first option days?

We have the reigning players MVP on our team.

    He's going to make it.

Good, I hope they send the entire Warriors to the Olympics, wear them down a bit for their likely 3-peat season.

Each American state with its own team, like UK has football teams for England, Scotland, Wales, North Ireland.

Who would win? Ohio? I think they have LeBron and Curry

Going to be some talented guys who don't make a 'cut" for the first time in a long time. And where's Lillard?

Edit: Didn't realize how late I was...

Can this be the first time the NBA Dream Team don't get the gold?

I don't like how Durant pulled out in 2014. I'm sure this applies to others as well, but I think commitment to the program should be a significant factor in making the cut.

Actual Rockets fans saying Harden won't be on the team.....kinda douchey.

But if he were left off the final roster, it would be the cherry on top of the s*** sunday that this season has been.

Durant has already done more than enough for Team USA. Won them a FIBA World Cup and helped win them a gold in 2012. I think one run should be the requirement. Some of these guys have a lot to lose if they get injured playing for Team USA.

Plus Team USA has plenty of talent to go around. It might be the deepest it's ever been right now in terms of talent.

I think him being on team USA is our only hope next year, unless we get Thibs as the coach.

Curry was born in Ohio but North Carolina is his home.

And sorry California would kill everyone, its not even a question.

Paul George, Westbrook, Kawhi, Harden, Lillard, Love, Klay Thompson, Derozan, Lopez twins.....list goes on and on and on.

    Carmelo shouldn't be guaranteed.

Lebron, Durant, Davis, Curry, Harden, and Leonard are locks. Westbrook, Griffin, and Paul George are pretty much locks. If you pick one vet to lead the team in the Kobe/Jason Kidd role, it's probably Chris Paul. You absolutely need at least one big man bruiser. I think Cousins is the frontrunner there, but Drummond Jordan and Howard also have a shot (some FT% among those three, yeesh). Then for your last spot you can choose outside shooting (Thompson, Beal), skilled big men (Aldridge, Green), or even more beef (the awful FT trio).

Perhaps they keep the extra big men on the bench, but based on the past I believe they go sharpshooting for their final spot. My guess of the roster:

    PG: Curry, Westbrook, Paul
    SG: Harden, George, Thompson
    SF: Lebron, Leonard
    PF: Durant, Griffin
    C: Davis, Cousins

Bench: Drummond, Aldridge, Irving (remember it's Coach K)

How about states where each player went to college (if no college, then high school)? It'd be a bit more balanced.

North Carolina: Stephen Curry, Tim Duncan, Chris Paul, Jeff Teague, Harrison Barnes, Kyrie Irving, JJ Redick, Jahlil Okafor, Jabari Parker, the Plumlees, Luol Deng

Kentucky: Demarcus Cousins, John Wall, Anthony Davis, Eric Bledsoe, Karl Anthony-Towns, Montrezl Harris, Patrick Patterson, Rajon Rondo

Texas: Kevin Durant, LaMarcus Aldridge, Avery Bradley, Tristan Thompson, DeAndre Jordan

California: Russell Westbrook, Lopez twins, Kevin Love, Darren Collison, Trevor Ariza, Taj Gibson, OJ Mayo, Nikola Vucevic

Curry wins in any case, IMO.
