Perfect storm!! We're sucking without even trying to....imagine how bad we could play if we actually focused ourselves on it
absolutely. Great post. If we miss the playoffs, it will be a significant if not impossible burden to pass to recruit star free agents.
6th seed looks worse and worse, so losing might be the best way to go. Thunder rolling over everyone and come play-off time, we all know how you cannot breathe on Durant + Howard will foul out and complain like cray. Rather just go out against one of the best teams ever in the Warriors. We should realize we don't stand a chance with J.B. and Howard quiting against any team, so maybe missing it is the best.
Playoffs, this shouldn't even be a question!!! I don't care how much they have sucked this year. As a fan, I want to watch the Rockets play for as long as possible.
today was the first time I clicked on the standings tab on NBA.com this season. Needless to say...it was depressing. The rockets need to deliberately lose every remaining game this season. This year was made for GS and SA, the rockets will plunge into a bad place with the ass whooping they are going to get in the 1st round and no pick to come out of a ****ty season either.
Althought i voted for draft pick. But after checking the standings, its basically pick 14 or pick 15-16 + playoffs. I go for the playoff.
5% chance that a #10 or so pick becomes a great ****ing player. 100% chance we get our ass whooped in 4 games and send the pick to Denver... Its not even a close choice.
"Win it all"??? There are far too many reasons to list for an NBA franchise to pick a playoff run (even without a championship title which only 1 in 30 teams get a year), over a draft pick... Especially the 14th pick in the draft which will likely just be a role player if even that. The NBA is a business. Going to the playoffs every year is what you want. If you are a diehard fan you might say you want picks over just moderate playoff success with the occasional second round run or conference championship, but an NBA team doesn't care about the diehards... They care about the fans that only show up in the playoffs because that's where the money is really made, and that's when new fans are created. And from a player personnel and staff position it's a no brainer as well. It's good for everyone but the b****y angry hardcore fans who aren't happy unless their team won the title.... Which is likely to never to happen anyways. You guys will never truly enjoy anything again in sports. Just stress out about what your team needs to do to win a title over and over again.
And to follow up from my last post I'd probably rather them miss the playoffs and get a draft pick If I worked for or played for the team though it would be playoffs all day any day.
I would prefer playoffs until the moment the playoffs are over, then I will immediately regret not taking the draft pick.
I want Houston teams to make the playoffs every year. However, what's the point in making the playoffs if your reward is playing the Warriors/Spurs?
What a bunch of sissies to want to lose for a very late lottery pick. Surely, Durant will want to come here (or any other free agents) if we manage to show no fight, no playoff grit and get so lucky as to get a 12th round pick!
