I've had somewhat a trouble life as a non-middle eastern nor muslim and I can't imagine what an innocent Muslim or anybody with a middle-eastern appearance or name might be going through at this very moment as far as having a difficult life goes. These terrorists are not dealing in a lucrative commodity's underground-market. Their murder is not planned on a need to take out an imminent threat. They are not fighting for money (many of them willing kill themselves!). They are not fighting for independence from an oppressor state.

They are using the Koran to justify their goal of setting up an ISLAMIC STATE. The two specific parts of the Koran they focus on are the laws on punishment of apostasy and punishment of infidel presence. What makes this an issue about Islam, and all Muslims, is that a large proportion of Muslims are sympathetic toward the same interpretations of the Koran. In Saudi Arabia, this sentiment is treated as a matter of law - executing individuals for witchcraft, apostasy, and protest is the law.

To say this has nothing to do with Islam is flat out naive, ignorant, or worse - justification. Your post must have been in jest to procure such a reaction as mine. This ideology has no borders. This ideology has no race or ethnicity. This ideology has no language.

What money is a poor 20-something getting when he blows himself up in the middle of a crowded playground? Who was his target? What was his objective?

 

This is an horrific act by mad, twisted Muslim jihadists against innocent Christians celebrating Easter, and all some of you can talk about is adding up columns of numbers and declaring, "This number of the Muslim religion were murdered by jihadists, and in comparison to those murdered belonging to the Christian religion, the Christians murdered by jihadists are a fraction of the Muslims killed by jihadists. You are singling out one religion as being worse than another religion simply because your anger is really prejudice towards one religion over another."

That produces an entirely predictable response and what is forgotten is the anger produced by the act itself. All this becomes is an argument already repeated here ad nauseum, an argument that really has nothing to do with what happened in Pakistan, and everything to do with personalities.

This isn't about Christianity being better or worse than Islam, it's about religion being religion and that there are other forces at play here. That's the point one side is trying to make. The other side is trying to say this is about Islam and Christianity is superior to Islam.
