On top of that, you have to deal with being beaten by the same team two years in a row. Not to mention no pick after giving Denver your draft pick in the best possible slot it could be in. It's a nightmare scenario.

Was seeing Nachbar punk Karl Malone worth it all by itself, despite us getting punched-out by the hated Lakers in 5.

    I SAY YESH.

In the playoffs, something magical and forever memorable can happen when you least expect it.

This team should not in any way be rewarded with a spot in the playoffs after their performance this year, after reaching last years conference final. The lack of consistent defensive effort and offensive scoring; especially during the last 4 minutes of the first half, the first 4 minutes of the second half, and the last 4 minutes of the game with any lead.

We really need a two way player at the PG, SG or SF spot since JH is our primary ball handler. We need a spot shooter or a scorer who will make teams pay when they double or triple team Harden during crunch time. Someone between 6'5 and 6'9 and long, (Furkan Korkmaz, Timothe Luwawu or Denzel Valentine). I think they'd blend well with Beasley, Dmo and Capela. Harden would probably become a triple double machine.

Or at least it might keep Harden from using "The Move" in the last seconds of a game. Yea you know the move. When he dribbles the clock down with three players converging on him, then he makes that quick move through the lane throwing his head back (which the refs ignore), throwing his arms up, losing the ball in the air then completes it by falling down on the court looking around to the refs. That one... Sometimes it reminds me of when my son was between two and three and would look to see who saw him fall down, trying to decide if he should cry or not.

Truthfully, I'd take more Rockets basketball, ugly as it is, over a mediocre 14th pick that probably, based on previous pick history, won't alter the Rockets landscape (much).

4 games? 4 games vs even a small chance at a brighter future (pick)?

That pick is maybe worth something packaged up in a trade. But yeah I hate to admit it, I feel like if we don't go to the playoffs, it will feel like an even bigger letdown.

Just think of Dekker as your lotto pick next season.

I say draft choice because we don't have a chance in hell in a series against the Warriors or Spurs. I also think because we have **** the bed so much in games we had a chance to win we have run out of games to make a run at the 6 seed. We might have won a game or 2 against OKC but it would be an ugly sweep if we faced the Warriors or Spurs.

That would be two busts in a row.

Draft Pick has more value for the team...as our teams motto should be #Pursuit 4pick

We know the inevitable - we get matched up with GSW or SAS...and get swept in the 1st round...#soon lose Dwight to FA...No draft pick available for the Draft...And stuck with over priced scrubs, while losing Bargain basement contracts via FA.

    OR

Continue as is...and see the Jazz/Mavs in the playoffs, and be ready for #2016Draftpick14... Have Les clean house with everyone including Morey, and make a splashy big name hire...And start the process yet again of trolling our city and our knowledgeable fans.

Im tired of such an overrated team giving such apathetic effort on a nightly basis. Im sick of incompetence at the head coach position. Heck they may be trying a lil bit harder now...but it just seems too late. The Rockets have been the butt of jokes this entire NBA season. And a Kartrashian, Addidas, and some no name (C)rapper curses were too much too overcome.

Durant and Westbrook have a different gear...And frankly have too much talent to fold in the 1st round to this Rockets team. And the NBA wont allow the Thunder NOT to face this GSW team. The Rockets will compete, but that series has rigged conclusion written all over it. However, I must admit that it would be a fun series...

But the Rockets have to essentially win out.

We just don't have talent. Roll the dice with the pick, and hopefully Morey will pick the right player even though it is a not a guarantee looking back at his previous first round draft picks. :(

    12th pick...not 14th

You guys are stuck in the days of the East sucking, such that the West always gets the 14th pick. Not so this year. The Bulls and Wizard are in the lotto, and they have better records than the Rockets, Jazz and Mavs right now. They have the 14th and 13th pick. Mavs have the 12th right now.

Thanks - should have picked up on that. Good to know, but I'm still siding with playoffs because it will (in my ignorant opinion) at least salvage this crappy season. I hate the idea of being out of the playoffs with a team that should, on paper, compete in the playoffs.

and I hate the idea of being two games under .500 with a team that should have 50+ wins at this point

It's Dwight's fault. He should just stay back on the defensive the whole game, let Harden and Brewer go 4 on 5 since Dwight is just in the way when he's on the offensive end. And then Dwight can be back to defend the guys coming down after Harden turns it over.

Dwight is too stubborn to just stay on the defensive end all the time. He's so stupid that he comes across half-court and actually tries to get involved on the offensive end.

Yea you have a point, but why are some people (not you obviously) in morning wood mode whenever Morey trades for a low pick? Especially the Dmo trade, like it or not, was a mid to low 1st rounder. In those scenarios everybody thinks its the greatest thing in the world.

I just wish we had better scouts and people to make the pick, a proper coach to actually "coach" the team and a front office that didn't spoil Harden.
