AJ Reed needs to be on this squad after two weeks in AAA. Plate TW at DH. Let Marwin platoon outfield and third. I wish Marwin could catch LOL. This teams talent level is over the top.
Give the youngster a chance. There is not too much pressure on White, with the lineup we have this season.
Do you see Tucker being sent down in favor of Reed? And then 1 of Reed/White/Gattis on the bench every game? I think I'd be alright with those moves. But I think some may prefer to have Tucker, both because he's more seasoned, he may have untapped upside, and he has some OF flexibility.
Frankly, I think Reed will play way more in the minors than people think. Tucker being somewhat experience in the outfield helps. Super Marwin backs up third and first on top of that.
yep, i'm with you on this. Makes way more sense given how everyone's looking. And if White struggles for a month unexpectedly, we may see him sooner.
AJ Reed from what I hear... will stay in minors (till May/June) due to team control aka what they did with Carlos Correa.
with white the projected 1b starter i'm perfectly fine keeping reed in AAA til June to keep an additional year of team control... it's just smart management. we ((((should)))) be deep enough on opening day to begin cementing our spot atop the AL. damn i haven't been this excited to start an astros season in 10 years.

I did that with Correa last year and was laughed at by the other owners for shooting my wad. 'Bode, and I won the league again. I'm patiently waiting for the DL spots to open so I can stash him away. Miguel Cabrera is getting older so I need some tutelage for his replacement.
I drafted Correa with my last pick last year in my keeper league. I have him for $5 and our inflation for keepers is +$3 each year. Needless to say he's on my team for the next several years.
He doesn't need to wait until May or June for that extra season of control. I'm not sure what his path to the bigs will be. We have White and Gattis slated for his spots, so unless Gattis plays OF, it will be difficult for Reed to play.
If Gattis struggles even a little bit, Reed needs to play. Do whatever needs to be done but after he gets that extra year of control there is no reason he needs to be in AAA.
Great news! Someone get Tyler a new jersey number. 84 ain't no kinda number for a major league first baseman.
