Every time we fall a game behind .500, we have a players only meeting.

And we have turned the corners every time we are a game above .500.

And at .500 the we get to relax.

Thevstory of the season so far ...

    People have drawn sides.

Hopefully everyone is cheering for the Rockets.

Yes it was. But he needs to realize that there are many DMoFFs on this forum.

    DMo First Fans.

They aren't DMo Only Fans; they like the Rockets too. But their first priority is what's best for DMo, not necessarily what's best for the team.

I haven't kept up with this thread but I'm a big fan of DMo. He has been really good IMO both defensively and offensively with the exception of the 2nd half of the Utah game.

I love the addition of Beasley and how well DMo has been playing.

Yet another respected poster (Codman this time) gives you his non-polarizing take, and your response is "ppl have drawn sides."

We dont even know what you mean by drawing sides. Most of us dont think that way. But your long history of polarizing posts is very consistent with someone who views everything as picking sides.

The day you realize that 9 out 10 fans don't think in your polarizing terms will be the moment of clarity to see it's largely all in your head..

At least you're beginning to see that you were often cheering for your I-told-you-so agendas despite the rockets; hence why you're now telling others to drop agendas and be a Rockets Only Fan. It's common for ppl to give advice from experience

Back to topic-- would be nice to see DMo and Beasely surprise some opp defenseg in the 1st round. X-factor surprise

I'll be pulling for Dmo and the Rockets over these last tens games and hope they can make some noise in the playoffs, but the reality here is that the most likely scenario is we flame out in the first round and Dmo is gone in the offseason.

DMo's FA value has dropped quite significantly, and one of the main contenders to sign him (Pistons) now has very little chance to sign him. I say Rockets get to keep DMo at $8-9M per year contract. Something like 3 years / 27 million with the third year being a team option.

imo, it's critical for us to make the playoffs, so DMo finally gets some playoff burn with Harden, and more importantly Beasley -- the other X-factor

If we dont, we're just kicking cans this summer, with less info to go by. We need to see what they can do in the playoffs, and it can easily increase their value for other purposes. A #12 pick doesnt have as much value to me versus the increased value of players performing on the playoff stage. Just one seasoned eyeball-popping game in the playoffs is known to help increase value of "assets"

Another side of the coin: DMo plays well in the playoffs, lifts his FA value back up again and Rockets find it hard to match his offer sheet.

If you wanna play that game, expect Morey to take quick advatage of any overvaluation common for playoff highlights and trade him for a first round pick to someone who wants his RFA status

In other words, a successful playoff showcasing is a good problem to have. And you always have right of first refusal. Dont see much downside to that at all. Your suggestion is a wee bit overstated perceived problem

This is what I mean, DD. There are NO sides. We support the same team.

You make Dmo discussions so personal. Seriously.

Just because I don't necessarily agree that he is our X-Factor, "Super Role Player,"etc does not mean that I'm not a fan or that I don't want DMo to do well. It doesn't mean that I have drawn a "side" to support or oppose DMo. This "side" that you bring up does NOT EXIST!

I'm critical of all players on the Rockets. I think that's part of being a fan:the ability to be objective and/or critical EVEN about the team and players that you adore. DMo is part of the Rockets, and he gets the same critique.

If the Detroit trade went through, I can only imagine how angry you would be. When it's all said and done, DMo is simply one player, out of hundreds, that have played in Houston. This team marches on regardless of personal attachments to players and the critiques of fans.

I'm out on this one. It's becoming the same rot found in the fan-created battle of player x versus player y threads.

This is the best PF play we have had in a long time with this DMo/Beasley combination. Probably since Scolandry days.

I don't think it's so much about "sides" as it is that some of the same people who were wrong in their analysis since the beginning are still wrong now.

What are you guys gloating about? On what basis are you declaring victory? And against whom are you declaring victory?

I am not declaring anything - it is all a matter of opinion - if I happen to think people are wrong - and they think I am wrong....who cares?

The only thing that may have been "Wrong" was the shutting DMo down for the year, but that could have been what folks heard - I had heard differently....but whatever.
