You might wanna look up the word "improvement" or "progress", and see why the recent performance matters the most.

Magic have room for 2 max FAs. Could allow them to sign BOTH Dwight Howard.....and Chandler Parsons.

Seeing what it did for Lebron before he started his power game, I can see why Orlando would be the smartest choice to heal his image. They have some real talent too so makes sense.

in that case, his most recent playoff performance is an epic game 5 12 turnovers.

Also - it wasnt just "a couple" games last playoffs where he was subpar. Look it up.

what follows? he demands ball handling help.

Then is going to break the regular season record for most TO's in a season.

By that line of reasoning, even Curry had more than "a couple" of subpar games in the last playoffs. Was Curry's performance also problematic in your eyes?

    In 2014-2015 playoffs, Harden averaged 27-6-8 on 44% FG and 38% 3P%.

His true shooting percentage was 62%, while leading the Rockets in PER, Win Shares, BPM, RPM, VORP, and every other category you can think of.

That seems to be pretty damn good to me.

And I never said Harden's performance was perfect, and I do wish he committed less turnovers. But despite that, he was easily the best player for the Rockets in the last playoffs. And is still leading the Rockets in every category conceivable, much more in the good ones than in bad ones.

Yeah, I think Dwight is not getting anything above $15 mil at this point, and even that seems too high, IMO

agree with most of this. maybe my expectations are too high. I look at the game log and i see for about half the Dallas series and Half the clippers series his shooitng was poor.

couple that with that he wouldn't even be in the warriors series had his teammates made a heroic effort in that game 6 against the clippers, and the warriors was by far his best series, despite the last game.

all we have left is the portland series, and then the OKC series (which he played ok at best, but I dont put much weight because it was his first as a rocket without much around him).

    That is underwhelming for me.

Dwight is deflating his contract value with each game.

I don't see it. He looks awful at the end of games these past 2 weeks. Not sure if he is hurt or what.

Maybe he and the rest of the team are mentally checking out from each other, knowing he is as good as gone anyway.

Of course, when I use the word "mentally", I don't mean, "deep, abiding thoughts".

Not a great thing to do when you're about to ask another team to fork over 50 million
