Götze with zero minutes vs Juve and zero today, wow. Pep really seems to think he's utter crap or there's something going on behind the scenes.

Without Mueller's heroics in the last second, Guardiola should have been fired already. Bowing out in the round of the last 16 is not where Bayern's expectations are. And he was close enough. What he is doing with Goetze is inexcusable. It's like intentionally being an ass, for no apparent reason.

I think it was the right choice to bring Vidal and Lahm to stable the midfield and support Kimmich and Alaba. Instead of Ribéry, Pep indeed could've brought Götze though for counter attacks - but if you're winning, you're right, aren't you? Still, we don't know about Götze's health and his efforts in practice.
Anyhow, I don't quite understand why you guys are so high on him: Whenever Lewandowski, Müller, Ribéry, Robben, Coman and Costa are good to go, I'd pick any of these guys over Götze.

Let's hope he gets a lot playing time with the national team to get back on track.

There was no reason to play Alonso. Alonso played like crap against Juventus, and he didn't play great against Cologne. The team was also playing like crap as a whole. Guardiola played Rode and Alonso over Goetze. Rode could have played Alonso's position, Goetze could have played. It doesn't make sense. Also, you are totally wrong if you want to pick any of these guys over Goetze. They are all wing players. You play two out of those four. You do not play Costa in a central position. Costa has not been playing well. And the argument "if you win, you are right": Bayern better win against a team like Cologne. It was the Bayern game with the least shots on goal of the opposing team since these stats have been recorded. So, no, he was not right. Guardiola himself said that Goetze was "crazy good in training". So either Guardiola is lying or he is not playing him although he trained really well. Take your pick.

Maybe Pep didn't want to play too offensive? Götze never does anything for defense and with Kimmich and Alaba as defenders some extra assurance in a difficult away game after playing 120 minutes on Wednesday isn't too bad of an idea.

Müller and Lewandowski are wing players? I agree that Costa didn't do well the last few weeks, still he's more explosive and way better in one on one situations, which is a significant factor against a compact defense.

Just like Dortmund did last December?

Which is because the whole team didn't do well and looked very tired.

Or maybe Pep just doesn't want to play him yet for health reasons (remember how Ribéry got injured again after getting thrown in too early?) or simply doesn't want to blame him in public? There can be so many factors we are simply not aware of...

Like I said, I think it's strange that Götze is getting no minutes at all, I'm with you. On the other hand I don't really get your worshipping as well.

Tough lost for LFC. Skrtle should have been sold 8 years ago. We've had 4 managers before Klopp and I have never understood why they played him instead of selling him to the first offer. Doesn't help that the alternative is friggim Lovren.

If I were Klopp, I'd settle for a Europa league spot and focus 100% on winning it this year. That's he only way we can earn CL football for next year. Give everythinf we have against Dortmund.

Also it's against the "heavy metal" football that he preaches, bit next time we get a lead, we should make a bus terminal in front of our goal. You can't trust our defenders and outlr schitty keeper. Turn all 11 players into defenders inside the box.

It would be hilarious and poetic if City didn't qualify for the CL next year...

Bayern reportedly netted a deal for Ousmane Dembélé (French, 18yrs old). He will be loaned to Rennes for next season and join Bayern in 2017. Dope transfer if you ask me, arguably the most promising winger of Ligue 1 and we'll then have the two of the youngest and most promising French wingers in football.

That would be a phenomenal coup by Bayern cos the word for the past month or so has been that ALL the top clubs in Europe have been after him. Outstanding if it's true!

We'll see, Sennes vehemently denied the report and now demanded the name of the source from L'Equipe, said it's not true. Rumors have been heavy for weeks though, so there's at least something to it.
