I cant believe there are people that feel JBB should be in serious consideration for the head coaching gig
You would think he would be freaking out and completely changing it up the mercy game, sitting sewer, terry, throwing a bunch of minutes for kj, harrel, beas, dmo...
Bickerstaff has no coaching philosophy he's simply a follower of his tutors... he's not ready to lead a team anywhere but mediocrity at best.
Maybe that'll happen, anyway. I know they want the moral victory of getting de-pantsed / bent over in the first round by Golden State or San Antonio, and say they at least accomplished that much in the Dwight era, but I want that draft pick back. You can either hope Morey doesn't screw up a high first rounder (I support Morey but he can't draft in the top 20 for s***) or use it to grease a trade. It's just been one of those weird seasons. Last season we overachieved. This year, a combination of too many things, including Die Wacht am Durant.
Of course he will use it in a trade, its what hes always done, look at all the young talent we have that is rotting away
Philosophy is one thing. The other thing is that he experienced too little as NBA coach that he dont know what he can do to motivate his players, control their motions and keep the team on the right track. Phil Jackson is dam* knowledgeable and experienced that he knows exactly how to guide the whole team at every moment. Steve Kerr is likewise. JB is just clueless b/c of lack of experience.
I know hindsight is 20/20 but its looking like Morey hit the panic button way to early on McHale. As bad as McHale was at times he's still much better than JBB who'm I think is in way over his head. They fired McHale because the team wasn't playing defense (JBB was defensive coordinator) while Howard was available every other game and the team had a fragmented pre-season. They then made JBB (defensive coach under McHale) the head coach thinking I guess that he could get the team (Harden-Kardashian) to play harder hoping that he solves their poor play. If they don't make the playoffs I wouldn't be surprised at all that Morey's job may be on the line.
I'm pretty sure it was Les who hit the panic button on McHale too early. I would bet Morey if left alone would have given McHale a fair amount of time beyond November to fix things. I don't see Morey hitting the panic button.
yup that and coupled with the obvious non support of certain players amongst other things. just an extremely tough situation to be in. In the end, its interesting to see all the ones who adamantly wanted McHale gone thinking that would solve the problems when it reality it did nothing.
Respect your opinion but I think Morey who is the Houston Rockets General Manager had just as much involvement in McHale's firing as Les. Morey in some ways panicked while watching the Rockets fall like a rock in the standings and Les having to make the final decision on eating McHales new $12 million contract probably was not an easy thing to do. Morey hires and fires.
you're merely stating the obvious. Just because it happened doesn't mean he truly wanted to when everything else says otherwise
Amen to that... This guy has NO CLUE none.. when a player is hot he will pull them out and rest them.. Marcus Thornton he got mad at him and wouldn't play him, and he was INSTANT offense... He needs to go!
