From a diplomatic perspective, I don't think either of those are the disaster that Trump's proposed punitive actions toward Mexico would be. We have bones of contention with Mexico going back to Texas secession, the Spanish-American War, and later the Mexican Revolution and the nationalization of the oil resources. But considering where we once were, our two countries have become increasingly friendly despite bones of contention over drugs and cartels and illegal immigration. Diplomatically, I don't think you can call those issues disasters. Trump's proposed punitive sanctions on Mexican economic interactions with the United States would be highly disrespectful and would make our relationship with them much less friendly and collaborative, maybe even make it hostile and combative. So, yeah, I'd call that a disaster. Will Trump be taxing those remittances at 100%? You know they'll just find a different way to send home money, right?
OK checked. Looks right. Walls can't be built in a day. Or in 0.0005 thousand years. Build wall first. but if Trump takes it, it doesn't matter where it was going. Just like if warlords eat all the hamburgers it doesn't matter if they were going to starving Somalis or soldiers hopped up on khat. At the end of the day, Warlords. 0.005 thousand years I'm just going by what Trump said. If you want me to take your estimate seriously I would need to know how many projects you have estimated and constructed. What do you have against the wall? Voters want a wall, and to deport illegal felons. Of all the things to attack trump on, a measly 8-12 billion on infrastructure seems the wrong avenue.
I have no opinion on that plan. I just did the math for carmen miranda. I think a better option to get mexico to pay is the plan I posted earlier by scott adams. Several ways to do it though.
Not a Trump supporter but found this Clay Travis article pretty hilarious.... http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/outkick-the-coverage/emory-students-terrified-by-trump-2016-campus-chalkings-032216
What an embarrassment if this is true, and it appears to be true, sadly. The college PC crowd has gotten totally out of control. These students are complete morons who should be marginalized and ignored. I really hate that these people are ruining higher education in this country.
oh noooooooo they're going to end the country by offering counseling XD That article brought me pain. I'm going to have to take some Xanax or some s**t. Very poorly written.

People consistently overestimated the intelligence of Trump's r****ded followers. I certainly did. I didn't want to think that negatively of the people of the US, but it turns out that was wishful thinking. The r****ds are showing their might right now. In the good old days, they would have likely died well before reaching voting age, but unfortunately advances in infantry proof safety measures and medical technology is allowing them to live unnaturally long to where they breed and are allowed to vote. It's truly unfortunate.
I'm not even kidding, I just called the university and asked for the counseling department because "I'm so triggered" they took it serious and transferred my to the crisis hotline. hahahahaha you can't make this stuff up.
Trump originally claimed the wall would cost 4 billion to build, then 6-7 billion, then 8 billion then 10-12 billion. He has claimed it would be as low as 30 feet and as high as 100. He claimed it would be built using steel, rebar and concrete. He claimed the wall would be about 1000 miles long. An expert calculated the cost, based on 30 feet at 1000 miles, to approach 25 billion which included materials, labor and infrastructure, but not the cost of securing the parcels of land necessary. Also, the maintenance and security would be at least 25 billion over 7 years and maintaining or exceeding that pace afterwards.
I seriously doubt that Trump will be able to stop capture remittance payments. Not only would it be incredibly difficult, the banks would be against, it might not be legal either. On top of that, people would simply cease to use the banking system to send money if they knew it was going to be intercepted by Trump. He might be able to capture a few billion before workers catch on that their money is being intercepted. Not a very good plan at all.
No just laughing at you. Trump's bull**** is total bull**** with no basis in reality and would never come to pass in Congress even if he was the Executive. You know he can't just order stuff done and pay for it with development loans like a resort or golf course.
Speaking as a prof, I'd just urge you to beware the intense fox bias. They LOVE to show universities in the worst light possible. The more stupid or PC the incident, the more likely it is to get heavy air play from them. Don't think one image or one clip or one single story at one school is typical of thousands of very different universities. People still come from all over the world for our higher education system (especially grad. level). And it's not to be turned into a PC robot. Cheers.
What are precast walls typically made of? Is the source for this John Oliver or something I can read? Does it mean 25 billion exceeding the maintenance and security of the current, more maintenance intense fence we have or the total cost and not take into account the savings. You don't want a wall? I find it odd that the main argument is the US can't afford a secure border. That is something I REALLY didn't expect.
The height of folly when right wing wackos quote Gandhi. Especially when he never said the quote: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/mar/03/donald-trump/donald-trump-falls-phony-gandhi-quote/ So basically, like everything else from Trump and his followers. False.
