At this point it's like seeing a gruesome wreck on the side of the road... you wanna look away but just can't...
Will we win more this year then the Aaron Brooks-lead teams did back in 2009-12? No seriously, will we? The Rockets finished 2+ games over .500 for the 3 years of the Aaron Brooks/Martin era.... but even with Harden, Howard we are on track for a worse season in a weaker west. Nice.
Well, there was no way to forecast the addition-by-subtraction effect of benching TJones might have, and releasing Lawson/Thornton.
truth! And less Josh Smith! And lets not forget just ADDING Goudelock to the roster! He has that inactive roster spot locked down!
the most depressing season in quite sometime. kinda miss the yao teams with scola. much more fun to watch than this crap.
I remember arguing championship with folks prior to the season. what a ****ing disaster. short of a miracle upset in the 1st round this team was the perfect storm of multiple players regressing and a bad combo of talent to system players and an outmatched coach.
Actually a 37-win season is still not inconceivable. Here's one scenario of how it could happen, from the 'predict the 5-8 seed' thread. Again, I think this is a worst-case scenario. But I got over my optimism way back in the halcyon days of December, you remember, back in the "none of our next 20 games are against real contenders" phase of our season? so I don't think the worst-case scenario is impossible.
Worst case scenario is clearly 35-47. 36-46 is next and 37-45 is after that. So in actuality 37-45 is second to the worst case scenario.
sure, of course that's right. But even I don't see us going 0-11, and I'm a pessimist. In terms of subjective probabilities, I think going 2-9 is more probable than going 0-11. (And more probable than going 9-2, I might add.) But you are of course correct that 0-11 would be truly worst-case. But that's just as unlikely I think as going 11-0.
This team is unbelievably average. I mean, the motivation to be in the middle of the pack is incredible. I've never seen such drive towards the mean in my life. I'm not disenchanted, I don't expect greatness, but I'm somewhere in between the two. It's almost like I'm equidistant from both. I can't keep my eyes on or off the screen when they play!

should've tanked like the pelicans this yr.. morey screwed up by not trading away howard, tj, lawson for literally anything.
Pitiful, Brooks/Martin performed better. This is what happens when you have a GM that thinks acts like a knowitall
