looks like your agenda is just shoulder everything on DH here and not realize all the other details that occur during this play. I'm assuming this is because you just aren't seeing it or fail to recognize it.
Howard is not playing good defense. I watched him be in position to contest numerous shots from Kanter last night and he never even tried. We will never know for sure, but the Rockets look like a team that don't like playing together, and aren't willing to help one another. I find it hard to believe a group of NBA players could regress this much defensively one year after making the conference finals otherwise.
You do realize anticipating and getting over the screen is part of the defensive acumen, do you not? Losing your man because you failed to properly defend over the screen is not an excuse at all, it just says your defensive instincts suck. So, of course Dwight is the first one to blame. And Harden making defensive lapses is not a news; on the other hand, Howard is getting way too much pass with his dumb mistakes, and that's why I'm focusing on Howard, rightfully so.
Yes, I'm aware that fighting through screens is part of playing defense. I'm also aware that teammates are taught to call out picks so you can play them appropriately. I'm also not making an excuse for Howard losing Adams. He got beat, plain and simple.
My point was he made the same dumb mistake during inbounds play two games in a row, esp in clutch time. He is supposed to be our defensive anchor. Just as I criticize Harden more than Howard when if both play poorly on offense, the reverse should be true also.
Dwight was -5 in that OKC game, mainly because he gave up so many easy points in the paint and didn't close out the shooters at all. Whatever shortcomings Harden has on the defensive end, he more than makes up for it on the offensive side. That's why he consistently has the highest plus-minus on this team, every single game. The same cannot be said for Dwight.
lol at you denial. Honestly, if Dwight can't play good defense anymore, what good is he on the court anymore? He has no offensive game whatsoever, and this is a guy earning 20+ mil this season. What a waste of money.

lol, when the stats confirm what you are seeing with your own two eyes, then there's no reason to deny that the numbers are telling the true story. everyone can clearly see now that Dwight's defense is mediocre, except for remaining Dwert apologists such as yourself
not really. yeah your +/- "stats" which you probably don't realize what all the other factors that go into it. might be a little too complicated for you. but its the simple minded ones that think blaming one person is what really is going on which obviously is the case here. Had you been reading what I've been posting previously regarding DH you wouldn't look like a fool and try to assume things. But keep on if that's your intention.
