What I love about Letterman is if you give him a quick jab, he comes right back. I remember when he had Charles Barkley on and Barkely said something about the Knicks being absolute dog **** and then Letterman goes, " watch your back be careful on your way out." Of course it was all just fun banter.

Yep, I rememeber watching that live, which of course was the only way you could do it back then. Those early to mid 90's years where about the only time I really watched Dave but some of my best tv memories are getting to stay up late with my dad to do it.
I recall watching the letterman interview with Glover live, and thinking that guy is bat shiat crazy, and it was almost unimaginable that his McFly character in back to the future was even less a dork than the real actor. Amazing that he has been in so many good movies too, making him sort of genius. Another interview I recall was when Dave interviewed Madonna, who was pretty much a Diva at the time, and he surprised her by bringing her Dad on stage, and you could literally see her transform from mega star into a little girl again. Totally disarming her.
