Trump at a summit with Putin after Putin ask a tough question, "well first of all, listen we have problems, okay..., tremendous problems right..., listen my friends tell me i'm right okay..., they say trump you know, you're right, there are tremendous problems. I mean look at my hands, they're big right...., you see, that's the problem..., dealing with these attacks about my hands..., it's a joke. listen we have a 50 billion dollar trade deficit, they're going to pay for the wall okay..."

Who wouldn't want to see that?!?!?

The funny thing is, he basically showed weakness than absurdity. The guy flat out said "I wouldn't do nuclear." Then said "Look at all of these beautiful people?"

    i mean, it's hilariously sad

comments like this are totally idiotic, ignorant, childish, dangerous, harmful to our foreign policy objectives and could actually make travel in mexico less safe for americans. ive traveled extensively throughout mexico and especially during the bush years i saw plenty of anti-american sentiment down there. especially in college towns. i even saw pro-taliban/pro-bin laden stuff. tons of resentment there and in other countries due to our foreign policy...this trump idiot is only going to amplify that.

Actually, while the answer itself was bad, it was also an idiotic question to ask to a presidential candidate in the first place.

And as for Anti-American sentiment, that can be chalked up to the needs of Mexico's collective national ego. Their society depends so heavily on the U.S that certain aspects of their cultural psyche feel the need to trash the U.S. Call it a way to save face.

Or, "When I am elected, I will have a better understanding of our capabilities to fight terrorist factions. At this point, I don't know enough to know whether or not I would use a weapon as destructive as a tactical nuke."

I agree, the question about whether we'd go to war with Mexico was another sort of non-sequitur gotcha question meant to frame whatever Trump would say next in a bad light. Now, Trump should be savvier about responding to these kinds of questions. But, I think it's a little ridiculous to throw these kinds of questions at him to make him look bad, when he's doing a great job of it all by himself.

It just reveals another facet that he's going to be easily tripped up by savvier diplomats because either

    a) his mind is vulnerable and susceptible to suggestion
    b) he has no damn clue what he can and can't say as the world's superpower

Again, this is why Trump does not respond to loaded questions. The journalist asked Trump if he would go to war, and Trump's reply is that Mexico would not think about waging war if he were president.

    Don't worry, it's understandable.

Was that suppposed to be an example of Trump being rational? Did you understand him? If he doesn't know who to invade. Then he's talking about loading up on nukes, which leads to an arms race, and another cold war. You truly support this?

    This is just mind numbing.

    This is very misleading.

Trump talked about bin laden in regards to the failure to capture him - not that he was a continued threat. It was Clinton who was warning about Bin Laden and in 1998 suggesting he was planning to hijack planes. Clinton was accused of trying to cover up the Monica Lewinski scandal - proof that Republicans were more focused on that then terrorism at the time. Futhermore, Clinton went to great lengths to warn Bush about Bin Laden but the Bush team ignored it mostly as they were more focused on Iraq.

In terms of the 1993 bombing being kids play or whatever, he was talking about nukes - that the next terrorist attack would be with that kind of weapon.

it is a legitimate question and trump still cant give a legitimate answer. just like most everything else, he gives no detail other than "we will make mexico pay". the whole wall thing is f***ing stupid. it wont work and its a huge waste of money. even stupider is the idea that the united states will compel mexico to pay for it. so to ask how you make mexico pay is a legitimate question. and the voters need to know how far trump will go with this so to ask if he is willing to use the military is a legitimate question.

to make not-so-veiled threats like trump did to mexico is just f***ing stupid and childish...in other words, its very donald trump.

It's all available on his website. There is no need to threaten Mexico with our military in the way the interviewer, Bob Woodward, was suggesting.

There's also no conceivable or legal way to "make Mexico pay for the wall."

None of this makes any sense.

From the website "Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things: impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats (and if necessary cancel them); increase fees on all border crossing cards – of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays); increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays); and increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options]. We will not be taken advantage of anymore."

So since Mexico has stated they will not pay for the wall Trump has stated that US will pay for the wall and will try to recoup costs. Can someone estimate how many thousand of years it will take him to recoup the costs?

Trump is not building a wall...

All Trump has to say if he's president is:

"I have consulted the greatest minds in the world and we've got an even better solution. It's going to be cheaper and more effective and fantastic and you're going to love it."

If it made any sense, it wouldn't be something proposed by Trump.
