You think he was "irrelevant" last season?

    Lmao. You're cute.

    Troll elsewhere.

Statistically inferior to that "scrub" Jones and team didn't miss a beat with him gone.

It's a popular misconception that he was anything more than an average player.

    No worries, you will learn.

Dwight Howard missed half the season last year. Without DMo, we wouldn't have made the playoffs.

Listen, I know you're trolling but I'll leave this here.

In the top 5 (time wise) line-ups the Rockets had last year, Motiejunas was featured four times. He impacted the games much more than Jones (who was injured a vast majority of the year) in every aspect.

Additionally, as wekko pointed out, Howard was injured most of the year.

The Rockets would floundered without Motiejunas' contributions last year. James Harden realizes this, as he called up D-Mo to thank him when the season ended and he had surgery, to let him know the team wouldn't have been in the position they were without him. That last bit was mentioned here on the bbs many times.

Also, I'd just like you to know that you actually know way less about statistics as well as context than you think you do. So, you might want to stop referencing them wrongly and embarrassing yourself.

    LOL, top five by minutes.

Congrats, you just proved he played alot of minutes.

And I like how you mentioned Jones. Lets take a look at a true apples to apples comparison.

Lineup production of Starting lineup with Dmo (PB, JH, TA, DM, DH)
    http://nbawowy.com/enohequgnyivsrgpoxiebfbt9

    Team PPP: 1.15
    Opp PPP: 1.009

Lineup production lineup with Jones (PB, JH, TA, TJ, DH)
    http://nbawowy.com/sne6eyqmkc5a1uhc105qgds4i

    Team PPP: 1.178
    Opp PPP: .956

But admittedly, that is a small sample size with Beverley missing alot of time, so lets run the numbers again without Beverley and just the other 3 (Harden, Ariza, and Howard)

    W/ Dmo
    http://nbawowy.com/yt8dh42ftkk7dobhu4x11yvi
    Team PPP: 1.096
    Opp PPP: .983

    w/ TJones
    http://nbawowy.com/3lohm92j1i2m2uft2q183kgldi
    Team PPP: 1.225
    Opp PPP: .972

Well look at that, the team actually performs better with Jones on the floor rather than DMO, both offensively and defensively, I guess Jones is the REAL X-FACTOR.

You were wrong, get over it.

Nice job again proving you know nothing about statistics.

Terrence Jones games started last season: 24

    D-Mo: 62

Dwight out more than half the season. Using metrics that include Dwight as a basis.

Lars' initial conjecture: "D-Mo irrelevant last season"

Not accounting for the missed time by Jones and Howard. Not including line-ups with Black and Dorsey.

You are the only one wrong.

When is Dmo going to play? This can't be the guy we've all been talking about, right? You mean to tell me this is the player we've been arguing back and forth over?

He played pretty well tonight , especially when matched up against ibaka . Dmo made several bad plays , but I think those are rust and being out of form related . He did several really nice things tonight and contributed very well defensively for a large portion of the game .

When Dmo and Ariza trapped KD the results were largely positive . More so than when Ariza and another player trapped . Dmo missed a look in the post and underhand lobbed it to Dwight when he should have either overhand pushed or just shot it ... But aside from that he didn't make too many mistakes .

I want to see more . More with Dwight and more with Clint . Can we get this guy 25+ minutes consistently ?? Beasley has been nice and aggressive , he also has the quickness to play SF , especially against reserves . He can take some of everyone's favorite player's minutes .

Not sure what is so hard to understand about my "spin"...

The Jones hate crew is wrong that Jones wasn't a productive role player that SHOULD HAVE helped the team this year, and pretty much everyone else was wrong that he would perform at least to his career averages.

And Bobbys Non point about me being short sighted makes no sense. Nobody was more pissed than I was that we had to keep Jones, but as I said then and I'll say now, somebody needs to show something, be traded for, or be signed to improve the PF spot... Especially if Jones' trade value was that low. If it was secretly high and Morey passed on an opportunity to get a great pick in the past than shame on him, but we have to ASSUME he never go offered that unless we see proof somewhere.

If you guys are waiting around for me to say something different it's not going to happen because what I'm saying is incredibly fair. It's just that somehow it is perceived as pro Jones when really all along its actually anti Morey for not finding someone better to lap up Jones in previous years.

This is about comprehending an entire thought process than just snap judgement. But shame on me for thinking you guys and girls can handle anything more than snap judgement.

(And thank God that Morey finally found better PF options so now we can move on from Terrence Fing Jones... Oh wait we are STILL regurgitating this argument... I'll shut up now)

Man just stop it. You were wrong foe three years straight. And now you want to pound your chest like you were right all along.

Great job, you finally got your wish.

No....I was right the entire time, it just took 3 years for pretty much everyone to realize it. Anyway, this is always how it goes when I point out that players suck and there is disagreement. I'll say it, people will disagree, then when it's blatantly obvious that I was right they'll either try and pretend that they never defended the garbage player or that somehow I was still wrong even though I was right. It happened with Mark Sanchez, it happened with Tim Tebow, it happened with Vince Young, it happened now with Terrence Jones.

    You guys never change.

Well I never thought I'd see Beasley again in the NBA again

See what a change of scenery can do to a player?

Guys that hate and adamant about talented players going to waste at the age of 23, 24?

Well I can only say your kind has been wrong before and you should be wrong AGAIN.

There is always a chance a player does not pan out but that does not mean they were garbage to begin with

He was taken 18th in the first round so he had decent potential.

So do you even factor injuries into your "equation"?

It was "blatantly" right after 3 seasons you were "blatantly" wrong in your assessment.

A broken clock is right twice a day.

Mark Sanchez, Vince Young, and Teboew all had significant success in their collegiate careers, while Tjones was merely average on a great Kentucky team....

    Try again Jopat.

    Nope.

    The truth hurts sometimes.

Another adage I learned a long time ago.

    Why you are "right" matters.
