Too lazy to look for the pic.

    Obligatory Iverson rant...

If you read the article, Budenholzer does talk about the speed and versatility of Horford and Millsap being a key.

I'm also going to use the moment to again point out that lack of practice time is a problem with the NBA. 90% time spent on one side of the ball wouldn't be necessary with a schedule that had less games per week like NCAAs and FIBA.

The article mentions having time to practice on tweaks in the defense specific to an upcoming opponent. It's a shame you have so little time to have game-planning practices.

Should've gotten Budenholzer when you had the chance. Great coach.

It today's NBA, just having guys that can "cover ground" all over the place is huge. It is a new era.

I thought Lowe's article was very interesting. Everyone should check it out.

Aside from the obvious coaching angle....yeah, getting someone like Horford on the Rockets would be nice from both the offensive and defensive perspective.

I can't remember if it was Codman or Nook, but one of them said that the Rockets had their chance at Budenholzer and blew it.

James Harden would hate a practice like that.

I was in the small majority back in 2012 who wanted him. Instead we get a kevin mchale. Now we all see how great he is. Id say we need etore messina. Dont make the same mistake twice morey...

    Budenholzer would be sublime.

But any coach that can understand today's basketball and teach it and preach it should work.

I feel like a broken record on this. Offense and defense has changed in the NBA. One of the reasons Pops is one of the best coaches in any sports, ever, is his ability to be fluid and change teams style. Yes, clearly, their players have helped!

which is why the Hawks will be forever a mediocre team.

either you are good as the Spurs or GSW, or bad as the 76ers or Lakers, or crash like the Rox,

it is still better than mediocre.

The Rockets ARE mediocre. They "crash" to mediocrity.

No offense ...but this reasoning is absolutely stupid. The first team you mentioned, you know the one Budenhozer came from, is probably why he places so much emphasis on defense. Just listen to pop.

It's a shame you have to dedicate 90% of your practice time to do this - "Atlanta tightened its foundational scheme, and got more adventurous scripting opponent-specific tweaks."

I'd like to see more opponent-specific defensive adjustments in the regular season. I've never been a fan of shortening the schedule (I like basketball, therefore I want to watch more basketball - simple equation) but something needs to be done so these teams can practice more.

Teams just go out and play their game for the most part during the regular season. I'd like to see more gamesmanship. Wrinkles I can enjoy while watching. Instead of getting the same thing over and over.

I would settle for the Hawk's coach.
