OMGTP, this team does not play any consistent defense period and they (especially Harden) make senseless turnovers that are complete killers especially in the playoffs and most of us thought Ty Lawson would help in that department. The Spurs/GS will murder in the the bottom 4 playoff teams so that ain't saying much.
DMo is looking great - rounding into shape, and playing very good ball - so much for "Shutting him down" eh? Glad the doctors I hang with told me the truth of the matter. DD
No, loser. That was the topic last season. Now it's devolved into the general D-Mo thread. How salty are you that you proclaimed McHale as the ultimate authority and that Jones would be the starter this season only to be proven completely wrong as usual?
That's pretty much what has been driving all of his posts in this thread ever since Jones flamed out just like some people said he would.
It was a joke on the thread title DudeWah. sheesh. Your memory is off, or you have zero ability to talk basketball with others, because you have to try to understand everyone in your strange narratives Nice attempt at troll job BTG. You guys need to help each other with your weak memories back to topic. Coaches do indeed pick starters, but in a platoon situation I dont see why ppl argue over it. Like with DMo and Beas. I was never in you guys argument about TJones and DMo. very bad memories
DMo has to get his stamina up so that he can play 35 plus minutes in the playoffs this year. Our playoff rotation should be 9 guys only: Harden Howard DMo Beasley Ariza Bev Capella and Harrell plus 1 other player in very limited minutes between Brewer/KJ/Goudulock
What's funny about it? Seriously? Harden is going to play 40 plus minutes in the playoffs unless hurt. Trevor can play some 2 guard because he constantly guards them for us anyway, and it's hard for most of them to contest his shot guarding him because he is taller. Beasley can easily play SF minutes in bulk with Harden and Ariza at the 1 and 2. Bev will play 30 plus, probably 35 minutes or more during the playoffs, especially if JB continues to start him, which he most probably will. That leaves 21 minutes at the 1 and 2 spots after Harden/Bev, of which Ariza can take 10 to 15 minutes or more at the 2 while Beasley slides into the 3 spot for those minutes. Our other best talents are Howard/DMo/Capella/Harrell and not: Terry/Brewer/KJ/etc. whose minutes should be all together less than 10 per game in the playoffs.
So you got it right finally. Lol you were wrong when Jones did get the start 2 seasons ago. And most of y'all were wrong when you honestly thought Dmo wouldn't get traded first. Good thing he fail that physical or you would still be wrong. Now can we put this nonsense to rest. This constantly bickering about one particular player verses the other is starting to get old. Dmo is playing well of late. So if we make the playoffs, let's all hope both him and Beasley will continue to play the way they've been playing.
Actually I was never wrong because I didn't post anything about D-Mo or Jones starting until last season. I correctly called Jones being a complete scrub and that he'd be exposed for being fools' gold during the playoffs before the Portland series years ago. I knew Asik would end up taking his minutes. So no, I was actually never wrong. Nice try though.
Some thought that he was a competent or even good basketball player, they were laughably wrong. It's okay to admit it if you were fooled (and you were) and just move on with life.
This s#$% just wont go away will it? Fools gold means that it looked like gold (or something of HIGH value) from far away, and then it turned out to be a fake. I do think we were ALL fooled by Jones in different ways this year. You two guys (Hollic & yourself) were fooling yourselves that he wasn't actually a productive player for the Rockets prior (yes he had his warts but you can't lie and tell me that this player wasn't a NBA rotation player: http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/joneste01.html#per_game::none ) The rest of us were fooled that he wouldn't continue to play at AT LEAST the same productive level. FACT: NOBODY thought he was gold. NOBODY. Clyde Drexler ONE TIME said on air that he could be an all-star and everyone freaked out for like a day. Some guy created a "Jones- Lesser Howard" thread that was an unfunny joke I'm assuming. That's it. That's what the whole premise of your argument is built around. Nobody else thought he was anything more than what he was producing. What I thought for the past 3 years is that we shouldn't trade him if he's as productive as he's been IF the market is that bad for him where we weren't getting value. You and Hollic had a vendetta for the kid since November of 2013, and deny that he ever had value when its a fact that he used to. WE WERE ALL WRONG HERE. Nobody won here. The Rockets got worse, and we are all dumber for continuing to argue this so someone can feel more important on the F-ing internet for winning a bet. Nobody won.... lets shut up and move on. (I'd honestly be surprised if Jones isn't waived soon. No way they want that kind of energy of a player that has sunken this low on the bench & in the huddle in the playoffs. Bad mojo. The sooner he's waived the sooner we can close down these stupid threads where people get their jolly's off with the predictions they think they got right).
Frankly, that's a pathetic cop out. First of all, just because you missed it doesn't mean the clues weren't there. And secondly, plenty of people said he wasn't good enough to be a rotation player on a contending team.
TJones was an average player his first 3 years, there's no arguing or debating that. Why can't you admit you were wrong then? You can be "right now" but you were wrong then. A broken clock is right twice a day.
Just give it a rest. Smart people know Jones was merely an average player his first 3 seasons who simply regressed to the point where he couldn't even get playing time. Sucks for the guy but this is a business and I doubt we will ever see him again after this season. Let the ignorant folks with their agendas pretend to have known for the entire time. A broken clock is right twice a day.
Actually, I think the Detroit trade proved most people right. The general consensus was that the Rockets fleeced the Pistons. In other words, the Pistons made the Rockets an offer they couldn't refuse, and that's a testament to DMo's value. The "failed physical" was nothing more than buyer's remorse.
